any one now anything on these i was looking at them in a shop and there crazy like 140 at the top and only like 120 at the bottom and an 11m radius it nuts but now one same to know any thing about them
They weigh a fucking ton, you MUST use the Neox binding, which though probably good, is a bitch to install, and the sidecuts seemed fucked right up. To top it all off, you're supposed to size those skis down so much that it becomes weird for most people.
All in all, a great ski for mom and dad, but a bad ski for you.

^ yea. Alot of ski instructors have gotten them from my shop, and they would be a wicked carving ski, but I'd rather get Rossi bandits if I was gonna get a carving ski
The people over at the TGR forums seem utterly convinced that they're the antichrist. I think Atomic made a mistake stopping production on the R:EX. But I know where you can still get those cheap...

^you're quite correct. In my statement's defence, I don't tech anymore and haven't played with installing the Neox bindings, and I'm going by what my tech guy tells me. It's apparently a puzzle. Either he's an idiot, or our Atomic rep is for not giving us ANY KIND OF BINDING TECH MANUAL, but I'm guessing it's a combination of the two.
Either way, my personal opinion is as follows: The sidecut is fucked, the bindings are suspect, and the skis are all way too heavy. Basically, not any good at all, unless you're the picture perfect customer for the skis. And no one is.

yeah i skied them last winter at a demo and they werent that amazing, they just seemed like an extremely quick turning carving ski

the skis sucks ass. first of all, if you want something that's gonna require alot of leg movement (11m is fucking short) you want something really light, or the lighest possible for that matter. The ski itself is super heavy and just wait until you put the binding on it. it's a fucking tank. it will go through anything (except bumps) but your legs are gonna be burning by the end of the 2nd run. Besides all this negativeness (new word we associated to the Metron SX B5) The idea is quite good, but I think that if you do want an 11m ski, just stick to a race bread slalom ski (omecarve, sl9 etc.) your edge to edge response will be alot faster.
my dad has 191 R:Ex's and recently got 178 Metrons. He loves the metrons comparatively, of course he doesnt ski they same type of stuff or at nearly the same speed or as aggressive. but they are a fantastic ski for carving and great for 'all-mountian'
