Moment, ON3P, or Atomic Bent Chetlers

hi i am looking to get a good powder/ all mountain ski. i currently have a pair of line afterbangs that i only use for park. I am interested in the moment tahoe, ON3p caylor, or a Bent Chetlers. I like a lighter/ softer ski that you can do park type tricks in pow and in backcountry.

any suggestions would be great

Bentchetlers are a great ski. Pretty fun and soft in the pow. Probably good for what you're looking for

can't say much about the tahoe, but the Caylor is gonna be a lot stiffer than the benchetler. both are pretty similar skis, but the chets will be softer. I ride 191 Caylors and I can't say enough good things about them. They really are bombproof skis, and i have put them through everything; from sliding sideways across rocks, to landing on rocks, to even losing one in february and finding it this month (only thing wrong was rusty edges).

if you want a more all mountain ski that can still handle some pow, check out the Jeffrey. it's not as wide underfoot as the caylor but is a similar type of ski.

so basically, the Caylor will do everything that the Benchetler will do, but if you'd like a softer ski go with the Benchetlers. keep in mind that supporting a smaller brand is a great thing as well and you will find their skis are higher quality!

i was also wondering would you know anything about the ON3P Vicik?

don't know a whole lot about the vicik, but it's going to be nowhere near as wide as the caylor, and it will be a very directional ski.

the vicik will not perform as well in pow due to it's smaller waist, and if you are looking for a softish ski you can jib with i don't think the vicik is going to be a great option for that.

If you're looking for a jibby ski I'd lean towards the jeffrey instead of the vicik. The vicik is a directional ski meant to be used as a one ski quiver or for backcountry skiing whereas the jeffreys are insanely playful and fun

I wanted pretty much the same ski a few months back and went for the Tahoe...........biggest mistake ever. The ski was a dog to get turning and had the slowest base of any ski i have owned, not fun at all. Put them on ebay. Jeffreys arrived today.

As said before, the vicik isnt a jibby backcountry ski.

 To answer to the original question, the moment tahoes are thinner than most of your choices, so maybe the moment nightrain would be closer to what you want. If you are looking for a thinner ski then maybe atomic access or on3p jeffrey/jeronimo would be a better choice.

I own 191 caylors and rode bentchetlers last summer. I'd say the caylors are slightly less playful than the bents but still playful, but are much more stable and versatile. The main difference I found is that you can charge on the caylors and you can rip groomers with them too, whereas the BC doesn't do either of those things well, it only does light pow at medium speeds really well

it's pretty confusing, but i hit a rock at the top of a stream that ran underneath the snow. thought the ski had gone down the hill aways in the stream but it turns out it was just sitting at the top of where the water started, right behind a huge rock i fell next to haha

If you want a good daily all mountain and big mountain ski, the tahoe would be the way to go. If you are only going to ski pow and semi soft snow the bentchetlers and caylors are great. I ride bentchetlers and I can do all the same tricks on those as I can on my park skis, I have also ridden the caylors multiple times and they feel pretty similar, the biggest difference I saw between the two was the caylors have a bit more aggresive rocker.

i'd say the armada magic j. with the 5 dimensions and tip and tail taper it floats over anything. yet with the fair amount of camber it can totally rip all over the mountain. its tanner's pro bc ski so it's trick oriented. it slays everything. hell i'll sell you mine too! there up for sale in one of my threads
