I feel like most pros are hesitant to mingle with nsers because they want to maintain that mysteriousness that is normally part of idolizing the pros

TBH its probably like this:

WHAT PEOPLE SEE:

Pro skier comes on and says something.

Random low post 'kid' hates on that pro - calling them names.

Pro skier gets mad and claims that the 'stupid kids on NS' are ruining skiing and don't get it.

Pro skier leaves NS.

WHAT MIGHT ACTUALLY HAPPEN:

Pro skier comes on and says something.

Other pros make fun of that pro using aliases pretending to be that 'stupid kid on NS'

Kids on NS make fun of that alias for being stupid and defend pros.

Pro skier thinks NS is only shit talking kids because they're too mad about what the alias said, and can't look past to the positive comments.

Pro skier who originally openend up makes an alias to hate and let out the inner thoughts they have on other Pros.

Substitute pros for industry/media types for different situations, and sometimes long standing member.

Vicious cycle. ;)
