it's all in the title

its been 14 fucking great years!!! half of my life
but now it's time for me to move on
i'm quitting the pro mode style cause i'm really over all the bullshit with all the hate and all the fis shit...
i've trying to deal with it helping my sport in anyway i could like trying different style of skiing passing all the exams to be a fis ans afp judge but i got to the point even if i'm trying hard to help it i get nothing back
i'll still be skiing cause i get real compnaies on my back who still beleive in me even if i want to quit. thanks to LINE and SAGA you guys fucking rock
i'll still be around kind of cause i'm a legs of steel for life so you might see me in their movies or at nine knights!!!

but i get to one point where i have to choose a way in my life and where i had turn a page in my life. i wont quit skiing cause it's my life but i need a change i need to free my mind from all the hate all the bullshit and all the thing promise thing that will never happen. i love my sport but i get to the point i love my sport that i have to quit it cause i have so many things to say that it could be bad the sport on some big person in the ski...

i write this cause i have to say it

anyway even if you don't here often of me it will be even less often now i'll still be around but not in the way i was helping the sport before
it'kinda selfish but now i'm just going to think andhaving just for me and ski for my bodies who help me

thanks for reading it's just a story short of what i think

I'm honestly stunned by all the hate on the first page of the thread, absolutely no need for it. To hate on someone who has contributed to the advancement of the sport for so many years is ridiculous, anyone can cast judgement sitting behind their keyboard and this is especially evident here! Show some respect for his decision... and just know that even though he may not compete anymore he will still be shredding way harder than 99% of the users on this site.

He succedded at being a pro skier for 14 years, it's logical for him to move to another aspect of the sport.

He didnt try to compete at today's standard of competition, he just wanted to judge and give his opinion on what  comp skiing should/could by being a judge. It didnt work out, he quits and tell us why­.

Gives you another perspective on pro skier life after their pro years are over? Yes

Pro skiing has its way to suck you in its lifestyle and then spit you out with not much left except  memories of good times and  a bunch of injuries.

I'm glad the mods left this up. Lolo you will be missed. Unfortunately it seems like our sport is moving further away from style and creativity towards a huckfest of triples.

Although this may not be the best for the overall good of the sport, there will still be lots of core skiers out there who appreciate the old days, and good style over who can do the most corks in their spins.

When you're feeling down, just throw Exact Science in the VCR and enjoy.

Your sport will move towards whatever direction you want to ski. If you wanted to be about style then go to your home Mountain and throw some nice court five blunts. Who gives a fuck about what somebody on TV is doing, just ski.

i guess i am pretty shocked at the way most people have reacted to this, i cant believe that people are calling someone out who has worked tirelessly at something for 14 years. most people give up at something after only a few months. lolo killed it for many years and i have a feeling that most people hating on him have no idea what he did for skiing, especially when it comes to style. hope you can continue to love skiing and not worry about all the bullshit that comes with it

He's a this step in his life, where he cant just live paycheck by paycheck anymore, theres very few people who can make a decent living out of skiing and the direction its going towards , isnt going to make it any better. Even if you're really talented. You are an awesome skier and i'm so sorry some idiots here arent grown up enough to understand you.

Some of the comments in here are so off base and out of whack.  NS has been one of the best things to happen to skiing but also one of the worst.  This is proof.  All of you 16 years olds living in the cities who go on your annual ski trip with your family, stfu.  Do your self a favor and if you don't know who created this thread don't post.

On another note, I am sad to hear this from you Lolo.  You were always one of the most innovative skiers on snow.  With the immergance of double corks and FIS based judging criteria innovators like you are harder and harder to come by.  I hope that you will remember why you got into skiing in the first place, to have fun with your friends (at least that is why I did).

LoLo, you have changed this sport in ways that nobody could have ever predicted. Your grabs and style are still inspiring people today and will continue to inspire people for generations to come. You might not be a comp skier, but the tricks that you created are being used in comps, and people are building of you switch hits in the pipe. You are truly a legend. I remember watching skimatic the year it came out and loving your part. No matter what you do, I know that you will blaze your own path! Good Luck!

it's so easy it see who's been skiing for 3-4 years. or those of us that grew up watching Lolo with many others like Deschenaux, Candide and Tanner change skiing.

hey man, hope you see this. your parts in whiteshine and skimatic inspired me to start skiing in the way that I thought was cool, not what I thought other people would think is cool. It's too bad you are so disenfranchised, but I understand. This thread right here is indicative of the fuckery that is the skiing industry in 2013.

Anyone hating on Lolo for anything deserves to have their pass pulled. Dedicate half your life to skiing change the game in the process and try to explain why you're done in second language... You can't. Lolo is real! Never skied like anyone else and his style can't be bitten, I remember the first time I saw him ski at X games and he did a cab 7 between the trap rails on the stair set... So sick. Go skiing dog, Fuck all the nonsense

All these punk ass kids have no clue what goes into being a pro skier and fighting for what you believe in.
Look how long it took Sarah to have women freestyle skiing be put into the x-games. It's hard to simply put it.
Skiing needs more guys like you just doing it for the love of the sport and shredding for yourself, doing what you want to do and not having big corporate companies breathing down your neck telling you what to say and what to do.

Lolo, don't listen to the few negative post's- they don't know what they're on about.

Although thoughtful, you shouldn't need to justify your decision to the NS community.

I only watch the odd competition / highlights, but it's segment in films such as LOS's that will stick out. If it is the same for everyone else on here (which it sounds like), then hopefully with some more time and energy we will only see more sick shit from you (if that's possible!).

Making it as a pro skier is very very hard.. making it big at anything is hard.. all you little kids really have no idea.. LOLO is the man.. his pipe run at X-games a few years ago is legendary that 720 blunt too fakie he did was so amazingly stylie straight into the switch alley oop 7 critical.. ... Skiing is losing one of its most creative souls.. Kind of Inevitable in my opinion things never stay the same.. Anyways Laurent keep soul shredding man sponsors and being pro are an illusion ski for fun and please send some epic Legs Of Steel edits featuring you Ns's way.. Props for being so creative and individual over the years..

Reading this thread I lost a big part of my faith in skiing. This is not the spirit from 10 years ago, skiing has lost a lot. If the new breed is acting like this, be it online hiding behind aliases or in the real world, that's sad, very sad.
