Replying to Bored in Colombia

I always thought people in the states were bad at driving.. Every time I get into a cab here I feel like I'm going to die. The cars don't yield to pedestrians whatsoever.. The lines in road mean nothing... Every car is maybe 2 feet apart at the max while driving 60mph in busy traffic.. And the police don't care and are just as bad. I guess it's the norm and I shouldn't worry. Anyways.. Anyone ever been to the region? I'm here for 3 months. Only been here since last friday and so far have been to the malls and restaurants.. But haven't ventured to far away because its dangerous.. The culture is very different and I find it fascinating. The food here is amazing.. Also trying to keep my mind occupied because there isn't much I can do in the city without a guide for fear of mugging. Just would like to hear anyone else's experiences in South America... or here in Bogota, Colombia. Kinda bored...
