Off the top of my head, definitely Nirvana. The fact that their music is just fucking terrible isn't even the reason why I dislike them so much, it's that everyone from that generation STILL pretends they ever had talent. To be quite honest, the most well thought out musical melody that Kurt Cobain ever came up with sounded something like "click, click, boom, splat."

i hate how blatantly pop there music is, but its cleverly disguised by one dude ripping the banjo and everyone thinks they love roots folk and bluegrass when mumford and sons is just re-instrumented pop music. and it all sounds the same.
