in response to the collab contest.
contests, railjams, even the x games are tools for marketing. they are funded by sponsors that want to see results. results come from ratings and exposure. when a sponsored athlete wins a comp the exposure goes up, if a sponsor puts on an event or contest, it is to gain exposure to both the company and team athletes. this blew my mind when the best skier did not win or go to finals at railjams.
tgr is marketing this contest after it was closed, because they didnt want real competition for their in house athletes. why would they give 100gs to a 4bi9 athlete? this contest is to build exposure to tgr not the competition.
every event in skiing is so minuscule it doesnt really matter if its legit. whether its a poll vote in xgames for dumont, or someones mom putting a railjam on for their kid to win, contests are rigged events, or marketing tools to be politically correct.
