Bad ass PC?

I have had a mac for most of freshman and sophomore year of undergrad, but I think I want something more compatible, I'm tired of the message "Microsoft applications are not supported on OSX". I want something that has a very cool outward appearance, very slick. My major is psychiatry, so I don't need any advanced math programs of software. Any suggestions?

I may sell my macbook pro to do this. Building one would let you choose the exact components you want/need, and then go from there. I have been looking at pcpartpicker.com for ideas, and I'm thinking of building something with the bitfenix prodigy and doing a dualboot (windows 7 and mackintosh). If you want to build one, you can save a lot of cash, and you can have whatever color/style case, leds, watercooling etc. that you want. This is all assuming you want a desktop. If you want a laptop, look up gaming pc's, or install windows on your mac, I personally really like the look and quality of the macbook pros.

I was looking for a laptop but thanks you for directing me to that website, that looks amazing. I was looking into Alienware, but they are very pricey and made by Dell, do you anything about them?

If you want something just to look cool but don't care about performance you shouldn't get an alienware. They generally weigh a ton a cost a lot

I would advise you to stay away from Alienware/Dell if you're going to be spending a fair amount.

are you looking for a laptop?

i'd honestly look at an ultrabook laptop with a new i7 Haswell processor...those have really good integrated graphics and if you get one with good RAM and an SSD...it would be really slick.

i have always used Dell computers and always had good luck with them, but only because i figure out problems on my own instead of using their customer service.

i was looking at cyberpowerpc today and they have nice computers for decent prices, but there are really mixed reviews...either terrible or great customer service and products.

loving my Vaio. but only had it 5-6 months so we'll see what I'm saying after 2-3 years. only complaint is the colours in the screen aren't too great.
