as you might know, the TGR colab contest is up with a grand prize of $100,000k.
I want to know why there are 42 entries, more than half of which are in my honest opinion, pathetic. (not to be mean, but c'mon...)

$100,000.

seriously.

was it lack of marketing? intimidation knowing the likes of Sage were entering?

what is your excuse, NS, for not submitting something? A LOT of you could have easily made entries substantially better than the bulk of them.

do the math. a lottery ticket is a very long shot compared to this contest

I think the main reason no one entered was because no one knew about it. seriously the marketing was pathetic. also however, its not like the saga AM team contest. its not something that gives up and comers that nobody has heard about a chance to break into the industry. its essentially just a way for pros like sage to see who can win a popularity contest. theres no room for an unknown skier to make a name for himself in this contest.

actually, there was no POV shots at all. Scotty was the only filmer aside from a 2nd angle from Moxley on the one stepdown jump. but your point is right, we had no funding other than our own jobs and we made sacrifices to make this happen, because we love doing it. anyone could have done the same. I understand some people feel like they don't have the ski talent to compete with some of the top videos, but that's not the point. if anybody wanted to do what it takes to make a decent edit (as many of you consistently do anyways) then you had a chance at making the finals and getting exposure. it's not 4bi9's fault you diddnt enter. (not directed at Heath)

you are going to win this contest, your edit was simply amazing...

i personally have never been able to put it ALL together. even when a crew rallied to do some backcountry mini golf... we had no sleds, helis, real cameras, cameraman, we didnt have beacons for everyone... you are talking about risking your life for a chance at $100,000. i emailed to put an entry of old footage to try and get in the top ranks to get involved with a real film crew,had never even heard of the contest.

Wouldve loved to try and throw together an entry for this. Unfortunately the snow year in Tahoe was awful and the lack of effort from myself and anyone in the crew plays a huge factor. If there is one next year myself and a member will put in an entry for sure. Also nick mcnutt yours and dales vids blew my mind and were thouroughly enjoyable.

TJ is a smart dude perhaps it was marketed less in a get a lot of summisions and more of a log into vote traffic thing.

Perhaps a how can we get other forums members to our site well tween this thread and the others  theyre lookin at 10k worth of veiws.

They are givin away 100 grand don't like it don't enter,

TGR isn't gonna give that kind of loot to whose edit can garner the most facefuck likes or who rocks the biggest fanboi club

What could possibly be fairer than a public vote for the top 18, 3 wild cards then the winner is chosen by a jury or pool of your peers?

I think that a majority of the athletes with edits in the top 21 respect the type of skiing Dale brings to the table. Most of them have spent significant time in the park and sessioning rails at some point in their recreational careers. In fact, I would suspect that the only ones who haven't are Max Arsenault, Elyse, Adrian Heartcarve, and maybe two others that have zero chance of making the finals. Even though Corey Felton has no tricks in his edit, that guy competed at a top level in junior nationals slopestyle before making the recent switch to all sled skiing.

I must say that Dale's would have a way better chance of winning if the BC booters in that edit were less tracked out, or first hits. This crowd definitely appreciates the fresh. Even still, that edit was so rich in production quality, technical ability, and passion that it definitely has a shot to win overall from the athletes. But it would be a LOCK if there were two or three first hits in pow and a single fresh cliff line... which it doesn't. The final round voting will be very interesting.
