My Canon T3i stops recording.. help +k

I have a Canon Rebel T3i and I'm using a HDSC 8 Gig Class 6 memory card. Sometimes the camera will let me record for as long as I want, but most of the time, it only lets me film for about 3 seconds then automatically stops recording. If I play around with the settings, it will also sometimes let me record as long as I want, and then it will stop recording if I try to film different times again. It doesn't even matter which quality of video or FPS I will be filming in, because it will still do it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You need a class 10 card. I would suggest at least 16gb class 10 from sandisk or transcend. If you want to really future proof yourself you can go UHS 1 which is ultra fast, but unnecessary for t3i. I use a 32gb and 8gb transcend class 10 card and have no problems. Good luck.

It says you can use Class 6 for 1280 and 60fps though?

I tried a Sandisk Ultra Class 4 and it worked.. must be shitty cards then

the sdhc cards tend to have a little better speed/quality. Also, sandisk is reputable and makes good product. If your going to buy a new card, I would just splurge for a class 10 card from a reputable brand. not that much extra, and ensures you will never have problems with the cam stopping recording. Hope this helps.

All that said though, shoot with the one that works until it doesn't anymore. the issue with the class 4 card is that your files/video might get scrambled or messed up and you may lose something you really wanted.

Format the card.

If it doesn't work after that, then get a different card.

I had the same problem w/ my t2i. I went from a class 6 to a class 10 and I haven't had the problem since.
