i was enjoying beta 3, lots of bug fixes, and a little smoother. i really like the new look of ios 7. definitely a lot of cool new features. sadly this evening my 4s turned off and won't turn on, i've pretty much tried everything. its even worse because my lock button has been broken for months, so i can't put it into dfu mode. not sure if this is an ios issue or hardware. probably the hardware.
not stoked on iOS 7. had it since day 1, and the bug fixes make it more usable but I still don't think that they'll have their shit together to release it in September. I'm guessing the release date is gonna get pushed back. also, i think a lot of the "design choices" they made make the phone harder and less enjoyable to use. hopefully it gets better by the time they release it
its happened to me on my 4s a few times, all i had to do is hold lock/home for a restart..... not that its at all helpful if your lock button is broken ahha.
and to alexat, i would have to disagree with you 100% there are so many improved interaction design feature improvements.. the launch control with the swipe up, two finger swipe down for a search, pages in folders, and beta 3 is FAR less buggy on my 4s than 1 and 2.. they still have two months to iron out the rest of the bugs and get it running smoother across all supported phones. i have yet to have an app crash since i updated again, compared to instagram crashing when i tried to open the camera... snapchat crashing when i tried to draw.... facebook crashing because it felt like it... twitter crashing for no apparent reason... and the list goes on and on
imessage is probably my favorite feature on my mac. its pretty much the only thing keeping me from going crazy having to use an old iphone 3g. its so much easier to be able to type out texts on a keyboard
nah it saves them when you do a backup, I have to admit I have people who I don't actually create names for, and it lost a couple of people annoyingly, but it's not a huge problem.
and lawrence, by "girls on facebook" you mean you.
and this mountain lion iMessage thing sounds godly, I suppose that's a pretty big advantage over windows.
Haven't put iOS on my 4 yet, I'm still running 5 with a jailbreak. I put an iOS 7 theme on for a while and ended up ditching the icons, but leaving the messaging and font for it's looks. I don't know why people still use the stock iphone stuff. I was totally against jail breaking my phone and all that and heard people that hadent jailbroken there's complain, but now I see no reason to not. It's so much easier and way more customizable.
you're still running ios 5??? There's so much shit that has been upgraded/added since then... I had my phone jailbroken for a while but I realized that I don't like changing the interface, I think most of the jailbreak things end up looking bad or being buggy. also, jailbreaking used to add a ton of functionality to your phone (through easy access to settings, multitasking, etc.) but all that shit comes with the stock software so I don't see the point
that sucks. i bought a 5 off of someone in b/s/t, to use until the new iphone comes out and i have the money for it. i sent my 4s to gazelle.com, so they should be giving me some extra cash.
they said 100 for it on the website, and i'll be happy to get pretty much anything. its no hassle for a broken phone that would otherwise sit on my dresser. i looked on ebay, and most for parts iphones were going for about 150-200. i'd rather not deal with the selling, and i'll get the money somewhat sooner with gazelle.
not a bad idea.. I was thinking about waiting for the new iphone but i decided against it. If its that much better, i may just end up selling my 5 and saving up for it
I haven't had a problem with it.
I'm only running 5 because I updated to 6.1.3 when they blocked jailbreaks so I found out that 4's were the only ones that could be downgraded back to iOS 5 and jailbroken.
I haven't had a problem with it being slow, just because the 4's were pretty slow to begin with. My battery has gone down a bit, but not too much. I think it's worth the trade off to be able to download better apps, easier tweaks and it improves it a ton aesthetically.
I read it would do so without affecting the quality of the video(which I believe is 720p on 5's right now, could move up to 1080p on the 5S or 6, which would be dope)
through some reading i believe that 1080p at 60fps will come within the software to selected devices, ie. iPhone 5 maybe, and that 120fps will be reserved for the new iPhone, i.e.. iPhone 5s. Also who is looking forward to beta 4? hopefulyl it will fix the wallpaper turning black all the time.
About to install it now, I'm pumped! I tried a few days ago and skipped steps here and there which ended up being a waste of time, but now I'm starting fresh and I can't wait to try it out.
I was running Beta 3, I should've been on 5 or 6 but I have been somewhere where I have to pay for internet so I figure it would be fine until I got home. It's been on airplane mode the whole time also. I tried to restore to a prior backup but it wouldnt let me so I tried to install beta 6 figuring it would just fix it and then it locked up my itunes when my phone is connected. So i'm totally locked out on my phone and itunes so i've been looking at using a UDID registration to get myself connected again.
@Earl, just walked my sister through this over the phone and it worked.
>put phone into DFU mode
>download iOS 6.1.4 for your device
>install
i stopped her there because I didn't feel like walking her through ios 7 again, but at this point you should be able to DL the latest iOS7 beta and install
