Dingosean - not really somebody who pays attention to NEX accessories!

They have them already for Leica, and Contax/Yashica - which is way better glass than Canon L, anyways.. I wouldn't even want it for Canon EOS for video.

Though, I'm not sure if they actually correct to 35mm equivalent on M4/3...

As for canon EOS for video, if you own a 7d/5d and wanted to get an fs100/fs700 the speed booster is a great option.

As for m43, i wasn't implying it would be FF equivalent, but it could be at least 1.5x crop, make the wide end 100x easier/cheaper.

word, 1.3 would be okay, i think 1.5 would be sick then that tokina 11 would be super wide. 1.3 would be sick for a 20mm tho

Yeah, precisely why it's awesome, if you actually already have the glass already, then you don't need to invest in a new system (though, how would EF-S and crop glass work, I can't say). Being able to use something like a 50 f1.4 as a f1.0 lens with f1.4 DOF would be fucking pimp.

and yeah, it would make it easier/cheaper, if it wasn't already a 400$ investment haha.

Not sure what lens you deem as "affordable" on the EOS system thats 35mm 1.4 or 50mm 1.4 but honestly with a gh2 you take one step back and you're at the same FOV as a 7d, two steps and youre at a 5D. Its not that big of a deal AT ALL. fuck the full frame "look" its bullshit. The only advantage to the full frame is using lenses like the 24mm 1.4 and THAT IS IT otherwise, its bullshit. im sorry im getting so heated, its not directed at you, im just so fucking sick of people bitching that something isn't fullframe."

I don't use this. I don't use canon glass either. i said "if you own a 7d/5d and have $2k in canon glass, it was a good purchase"

I also said the 1.3 crop is kind of awkward for lenses.

Don't call me out with some sort of specific reason. i do hate when people bitch about crops, i dont think making your lenses ~FF FOV is necessary at all. What is nice is the extra stop of light. Also, you can remove it so when you use a tele lens, you can use a normal adapter and then only use the speed booster for its strengths, wide lenses.

Now, a speed booster for the gh2 would be awesome for wide lenses. IS IT NECESSARY? no you can use 2x crop with some good UWA lenses and it works just fine.

You still have to pay an extra 400$ for an adapter just to make M4/3rds get wide angles with vintage glass - and the whole reason for vintage glass is affordability. Extra stop of light is nice, but worth 400 bucks, nice? ehhhh..

Either way. You get way to fucking heated about opinions.

That being said, back on topic. $400 isn't that bad, maybe thats just me but if you're using an NEX system, $400 aint that bad. My adapter isn't even electronic and it was almost $300 and i dont regret that decision at all, you pay for quality products. im not gonna argue about the gh2 with you at all anymore, since neither of us own one haha

One thing that i get stoked about with the MTF speed booster is you can use it with a BM pocket cam and it makes the crop about 2x vs 2.9x or whatever it is natively which would be HUGE

we have both the regular metabones adapter and the speedbooster. being able to have both is really, really useful.

Have been DP on this short film the past 5 days, much of which has been shot at night, primarily with an fs700 and speedbooster. If you have the option, it's a great tool to have...really does make a difference.

the only issue with the metabones is sometimes the connection between the adapter and the camera gets blocked and you lose the ability to change your aperture. just have to turn off the camera and take of the adapter and put it back on.

that picture is mad funny, $50k+ lens on a $995 body.

But, the 2.9x crop or whatever of the BMpocket cam is slightly unfortunate. 2x is one thing, you can at least use 10mm and be good but 2.9x you need like a c-mount 8mm for wide haha. i wanna pick up one of those cameras and use my tokina 11-16 and tamron 17-50, it would be pretty nice for non-action.

Jesus H fuck Evan, I'm just taking the piss. I understand what you mean but it's just funny how you're raving about how a crop factor is benificial for video (most of the time) and now you're arguing how this adapter would be pretty awesome because it would get rid of it.
