Allround photobackpack

I have a Lowepro 400 AW, and although it may not be exactly what you're looking for it does a great job of protecting gear, the bag itself is light weight and its construction is top notch, so I can definitely recommend the brand. I've taken it on an overnight backcountry trip and it fit a Nikon D7000, 3 primes, skins, mitts, food, shovel, probe and first aid kit. I find the tripod loop a bit awkward, but my tripod is kind of big and heavy.

Well I finally said fuck it and bought one this fall and it was probably one of the best things I could have done for my photography. Nice to be able to ski like I normally would without having to worry about my gear. I have two small pro icu's which is equivalent to a single large but I can break it in half. In one I have my 5d gripped, 17-40, 24, 50, 70-200, and a rocket blower; basically my every day kit. I can then have room for things like food, extra layers, ski touring and avi gear. For skate missions I can also add the second ICU which has my 3 speedlights, f1/50mm, eos film body, flash triggers, and other nicknacks that I might need.

I think the money is well spent, you get an extremely high quality product with great customer service and a reputable warranty program. Access is pretty fast, you just swing it around your hips with the belt on and you can use it like a table, if your that worried just keep your body and a lens out if you think your going to need it.

Double post, but you have 3 different tripod carry options (either side or front carry if that's your thing), as well the shell complies with international carry on standards so you shouldn't have an issue regardless of airline, i've flown twice with mine and it was a breeze.

I have a F-Stop Tilopa BC with the XL insert

Mt f-stop Loka is the greatest investment i've put towards my camer setup. (other than the body and lenses). It is unbelievably durable and is so comfortable.

Got an f stop bag the other day and as everyone says it really is awesome, although maybe I'm just easily impressed, given that before I was using a dakine mission with another pack stuffed inside that barely fit, taking me minutes to get my camera out anytime I needed it.

Now I simply open the back of the pack and I've got my camera, can do that in about 10 seconds.

Tripod carry really is excellent, having the pockets to put it in is really nice. I've got the tilopa, and it's awesome, more than big enough for most things I'm gonna be doing. The question is, is it worth the price? That's only something you can decide, if you need it, then you'll consider it a bargain for what you get, but only you can decide.

So many little pockets everywhere, the waist strap has a little pocket that fits some batteries in perfectly, so you can get them instantly If you need them.

I use a Timbuk2 Snoop pack... I can fit like 4 bodies in that thing. haha.

i'd check out the tamrac expedition series, theyre all pretty good

the 7x is a dope pack from when i saw another photog with one. The problem for me is that it lacks any real storage outside of the camera brick. so its good for your cam, but not for carrying anything misc. and extra like a jacket, food, etc. Didn't see if OP needed that space, just thought i'd point it out either way.

Well thats essentially why its so hard to find a suitable backpack.
