Cut out all drinks except for water and coffee
Don't eat bread, pasta, anything with flour. You can make up the carbs other ways.
Don't eat any food that has added sugar in it. Eat fruits for your sugar intake.
Basically, the easy thing to do is just buy ingredients. Stay away from processed stuff and you'll be golden. Combine eating healthy with exercise(whatever it may be that you do), and you'll see a noticeable difference pretty quickly if you work out hard.
My goal for the summer is to get in the best shape of my life. I'm not going to say I started off fat, but I just wanted to get leaner. Eating healthy, mountain biking almost every day, and running probably 4-5 times a week, 5-9 miles each time, I can visibly tell that I've just burned straight fat. Probably lost 8-10 pounds, not much, but at 185 and built, I'm stoked that my 175 right now just looks lean.

Cut out sugar, eat fruit and veggies. Eggs and hash browns in the morning, quinoa and chicken for lunch, and veggies and meat for dinner. You'll be golden.
