What quad to buy?

Looking to buy a new quad within the next few months. We will be mostly be using it for hunting, plowing the driveway, and taking it camping. Want something that will have no problem in snowy conditions or muddy conditions. Also something that will be able to carry a couple hundred pounds if needed. Any input is good.

My dad has a yamaha grizzly 550 (4x4 obv)
it never has failed him yet in anyway and has had it for 5 years or so i think

I have a pair of Grizzlies that are like 10 years old but we maintain them and havent had any problems. Also, theyre fucking beasts, hence the name. Next choice would be a Polaris.

^And to above. I have a new dirtbike now, always have had dirtbikes, and always will, but the quad is great for "work". My bike is for play, but the quad gets shit done.

Take them out camping, hunting to haul the kill back, fishing, any longer trips where we have to take stuff, hook a small trailer up to it and use it in the backyard, take them out for fun on riding trips, had to build a barbed wire fence one and used them to haul the stakes and fencing.
Theyre nice becuase you can take more and heavier stuff with you and its a little easier in most terrain that you will be dealing with. On my bike I can go pretty much anywhere, just depends on how, but with the quads I'm a little more limited but most of the stuff is easier.
They work hard but are still fun to take out and bullshit around on.

some of the quads you're referring to can be pretty fun, as can dirt bikes. i used to have a trx 250r 2stroke, with an all aftermarket race chassis, that thing was insanely fun to drift corners at really high speeds, and was awesome on a mx track too. its just a different style of riding. If i lived somewhere with tons of single tracks, id want a dirt bike. Where i lived though we did have a lot of those, but a ton of logging roads and gravel pits. There I would want a quad for sure, i know you can slide around on bikes too, but not nearly in the same way.

who the fuck would ever choose to drive an avalanche?

Quads are tons of fun - maybe not quite as purpose built fun as a dirtbike but you can use a quad 12 months a year no problem especially once the sled trails get packed. They fucking hate when you ride "their" trails which makes it even more fun.

The only problem with quads now is they are getting HUGE. Bloated big designs with tons of plastic and weight additions because of new technology. They have massive heavy engines now that have the same displacement as some small cars

I would try and get an old (05ish) used polaris for cheap. I had an old 300 2-stroke that was a blast. It was quick, had decent speed and was an absolute workhorse. It was so light you could also lift it out of any problem you got into

Then why the hell do you need a quad to plow it? It's called a fucking shovel. Get up off your fat ass, shovel your damned driveway a few times a year, and maybe lose a few pounds. You don't need a 7K machine to do that for you -- it will only allow you to get even fatter.

I mean obviously if you need to haul around shit then get a quad by all means but if you're just riding around, a bike looks way more comfortable and fun plus leaning into turns is way better than getting bucked around trying to hold on

I have a Polaris Sportsman 335 and that thing never doesnt start. Especially in negative temperatures it started up every time. Doesnt look super pretty but it was cheap, and it works. Every time

you only need a truck if your driveway is like a kilometer long. My driveway is still like 250 yards long and whenever it snows it gets about 6 inches or more, to fucking heavy for a shovel you fucking idiot. Plus it will also be used to plow the parking lot of our family business. God youre a fucking retard.

I had a 800 h.o that i just traded in, tossed 2k miles on it in 2 years and it was awesome.

I have a pair of brute forces (2007 750i ~5000miles 1k hours) and a 2013 750i eps 5miles) I love them more than any quad ive owned before.

Used for plowing, trail riding, mowing, tilling, hauling wood around the property.
