I mean... i'm not one who condones threats of any type, but this IS the fucking internet. Has the government SEEN 4chan? I mean holy balls... people on THIS site say some pretty fucked up shit as it is...


Sure, maybe send some FBI folks over to his doorstep, maybe arrest and search him on suspicion, and maybe throw an ankle tag on him for a few months and give him mandatory counseling sessions... but 6 months of federal pound-me-in-the-ass-prison for a twitter post while he was probably high as balls?

But nope... Spend thousands on yet another inmate, for half a year, which will fuck this dude's life up even more than it might already be, just to 'prove a point' or some bullshit that 'teh interwebz is serious bizniss', then throw this dude back out onto the street, where he's now pissed off, with a sore butt, and lots of new, pent up issues with a government he already doesn't trust? Way to create a guy who might actually point a real gun at the POTUS.. or anyone for that matter WITHOUT the blind threats...

America's justice/prison system is too fucked up already for this shit.

I mean...it's a federal crime to threaten the president's life. Everyone knows this is one of the few things free speech doesn't allow you to do. You have to be pretty damn stupid to make multiple tweets(?) about how you want to murder the president.

considering the dude was in Charlotte where the DNC was to be held, i'm glad his ass is in jail. Don't care if he was high on marijuanas or not, making direct threats about someone when they will be nearby is fucked up. Had the dude been in Cali or something it would be different.

It's stupid, and yeah, he should have a watchful eye kept on him by the FBI and maybe put under house arrest for a few months, just in case, but 6 months of hard time in federal? are you kidding me? That's wayyy over-the-top.

6 months. That's 40 grand + per month out of taxpayer coffers just because he said some bullshit on the internet - a place where the assassination of the president is spoken of every single day on sites all over the place, and in the comments of 75% of all youtube videos, whether they are about Obama or politics or anything related to begin with.

I mean, I guess they're trying to make an example out of this guy, but really? Fucking waste of time, resources, and all of the above, just because of the hypersensitivity of this post-911 world.

You know, the DNC is a multi-day event. He could easily get on a plane from "Cali" and end up in Charlotte in a 5-6 hour Jet Blue redeye... he'll be able to watch Direct TV the whole way there, go to a gun show in NC, pick up a gun, and get ready to roll.. with a couple of days to prepare.


If somebody is serious, it doesn't matter where they are... I have a feeling this guy was high, potentially dared, and might not even own a gun, much less an assault rifle.

Why do you feel sorry for the guy? He is obviously a dumbass. I guess I feel bad for people with that low of an IQ, but seriously. The kid who got arrested for referencing the boston bombings in a rap on his fb is a different story though.

My point wasn't that somebody couldn't do it from elsewhere, it was that he made a threat to the POTUS leading up to one of the biggest events. If you are stupid enough to do that, you are stupid enough to have your butthole touched in jail.

When Clinton was in office he showed up in Denver, and it caused gridlock in parts of the city. Some guy flipped him off as he drove by and they locked him up. It wasn't that the guy hated Clinton, but more that he was pissed off because he got stuck for hours in a traffic jam created by the routing of his motorcade.

Ok, sean, there is a thing called accountability. When you threaten a person's life, you are responsible for your actions. Yes, RESPONSIBILITY is thing everyone is trying to avoid. The FBI is using this guy as an example to the rest of Americans. When you post shit on open social network, you are personally responsible of your actions and words.

Does it require jail time? How many time has he done it? is the question I ask. But even if your high, you should account for your mistakes.
Now, going for jail for being high is a different matter; it should not reflect his sentence. For example im fucking drunk now.
