My First Logo Design. Opinions?

Im new to the software i used and this is my first design. is it any good?

No, but I'm going to be a harsh critic.

Where does it end on the sides, it seems to have been cut off, unsymmetrically.
It's quite dense, there is a lot of black.
Colour of the text is bad, better to keep that white.
The little band (let's just call that the river) seems to be a bit of an extra addition that's not really necessary.
Even though I like the very stylized cuts for the mountains, it looks like quite an alien range because of the symmetry, mountain ranges are not that symmetrical.

it's not terrible, but it's not amazing either. mountain ranges aren't symmetrical but that isn't really a principle that you need to worry about here. i personally like the look of those mountains and think the fact that how symmetrical they are should be played subtlety into whatever the product is. but at the same time you need to get the whole design in the frame and not crop out any of the black around the mountains if that is part of the logo. as for the text, i'll be brutally honest here you definitely need to work on color selection and font choice. play around with all sorts of ideas incorporating different things into the text, effects, etc. if you don't have a program capable i highly suggest investing in one.

Our home mountain of Yawgoo Valley (yes that is in rhode island) wanted us to make like a little group of kids to make videos to promote the park they have there to the kids that live in Rhode Island, but go to Wachusett instead. So we are just going to make some videos, mabey with some park updates, and just regular edits for when we go up north.

That actually just made it better, the streak river thing comes out better as well.

Text colour is still horrible, font is a meh.

Just look for the only park skiers there and its probably us. Me and my friends are usually the only ones that ever step foot into the park and do stuff. i have some other ideas but i have 0 idea on how to make the drawn up stuff computorized.

Make the text in white and make it either 1. in the same style as the rest of the logo(tapered lines with pointy ends) or 2. make it a contrast to the rest of the logo.
Now its something in between

I'm not a fan of the Goocrew in blue, I think it would look a million times better in white since you have a logo that is playing with negative space. Other than that not bad, I'd also play with other fonts, that reminds me too much of 'impact'. Try going on sites like www.fontsquirrel.com or www.dafont.com.

all thats bugging me is the font of "goocrew." The white looks infinitely times better than the blue though.

Just tried something. Needs more space between the letters, but I'm drunk so any form of judgement is way off.

BTW the file you had on here was pretty rough, did you make it in PS?

i was thinking making the second part of goo crew to slant the other way as the mountains do would make it less awkward, but it would probably end up weird because of the odd number of letters

Check out dafont.com. Ive used it myself, it has a wicked amount of fonts.

^ to the people up top who think its weird but can explain why or think its the font, I think its more the actual name, it kinda makes you want to think GOODREW or GOODCREW because we're not used to the name. Try spacing the name into two words and look at it

Make the letters also move in that wave with the streak so its the same amount of overlap for each letter, if that makes any sense.

tried out some diffrent fonts... meh. they're not even in the center. and i spilled some black shadow stuff @ the sides
