Ski Rep Interview Prep

I knew a few of the crystal reps in whistler. It's a pretty easy job. Your main job is to meet up with guests and sort out things like lift passes for them. For example in whis they would go round 4 or 5 hotels every day and meet guests and sort things out for them. You will need to have good customer service skills, be organised and be ready to deal with stupid problems and requests. They seem to get quite a bit of time to ride they would be done by just after mid day in the day time and then it's just a few hours in the evening. But be ready to be annoyed when you miss quite a few powder days as you won't get up the mountain early but if you mainly ride park it will not be a problem.

It looks as if this program is a Travel Agency. The rep program is more of a Concierge that a sales rep. That being said it looks as if the biggest prep for the position would be Local Knowledge. Being able to advise your clients on the best the area has to offer. If you are applying to a specific area, get as much info about it as possible. Nothing would piss me off more than to spend a ton on a ski vacation and the guy they hired to be in the know has no, or bad info for me. You are going to be their Yes man. Get comfortable on your knees, you will be kissing a lot of ass.

When you go for the interview talk about How much you love hospitality, making people feel comfortable, meeting new people etc..
They don't care how good you are in the park or how much you love skiing, thats what you do in your free time.
They are looking for someone open, happy and really talkative. Go into the interview with a big smile, listen and be as informative with all of your responses as possible. What they are looking for mainly is how approachable you are and how the guests will see you.

In order to be a ski company's representative, all you need to be is overzealous about their product that borders on being a complete douche bag and having zero shame about what you're doing.
