Usually I've been a big time Xbox fanboy. But it just seems that Microsoft is coming across as such a bunch of pieces of shit. - no backward compatibility with games, I guess cause of new OS n shit. - cant transfer Xbox live purchases - cant use old controllers or headsets and the new headsets use this funky port. Ms did this to gain control over the headset market. - mainly focused on multimedia--I buy systems primarily for games. Don't care about gay gimmicky shit like kinect. Ps4 looks powerful as fuck, it'll have call of duty, they have free online subscription. I'm in a nerdy dilemma What're u gonna pick?

The only reason I have an Xbox now is because of Halo. Looks like Destiny will fill that void for me. The PS4 is looking good, except for the occasional freeze frame...

seriously I've loved my xbox360 for the last few years and at first was thinking I was dead set on xboxone


and then I remembered how awesome my ps2 was and how much I enjoyed it and how few problems I ever had with it.


And then I look at the ps4 and think "ok, I can handle that." I hate the ps style controllers though.


It looks more and more likely that my xbox will become my minecraft machine.

I'm really interested this, even though I've never owned any game system other than a gamecube back in the day.

I've had a ton of fun playing my roommate's and freinds' xboxes this year, and even bought myself a few games to play on borrowed xboxes.

I've decided I want to get something, but I have no clue what I want. I have Xbox 360 games, which makes me think that the XBOne is a good idea, so I can play them, but the whole used games and kinect think makes it seem ultra shitty. Sony, on the other hand, has a controller I don't like, but is cheaper, and allows used games, as well as not having to be constantly connected to the internet, with camera and mic recording. But then I also have to buy games and the ones I already have go to waste. I could always go for the Xbox 360 still...

Was waiting for E3 to finally see which console had the edge and PS4 in my mind blew xbox out of the water. The price alone is a big enough incentive to get it over the xbox.

I'm pretty sure you can just buy an Xbox controller that adapts to play stations but I do agree that the play station controller isn't as good but I'm definitely not getting the Xbox one.

ps4 is also going to have cheaper online play. I didn't see it directly, but I heard it won't quite be free anymore. Something like less than $5 a month.

I think microsoft tried to be a little too innovative this time around. Should have toned it down and gone for a better transition like sony.

yeah they said $5 a month and that there is no restrictions on game sharing or trade ins. Also with the 5 dollar a month membership they are giving a free indie game a month by the sounds of it.

i probably wont buy a ps4 cause i dont play video games anymore but wow they really truly fucked M$ on this one. you cant even play used or traded games on the xbone and you have to always be online with some creepy camera/mic shit watching you

Amen man, though I went, ps 1, ps2, xbox 360 and never thought I would go back to a playstation, but after comparing the two after e3 and the 100 dollar price difference, and being able to borrow a buddies game and try it out to see if I like it will be great.

In my opinion microsoft fucked them selves with one mistake, they decided to make their console appeal to the non gamer, forgetting to realize what made them so popular, the gamer. I'll hit my input 2 button on the remote when I want to watch TV, I don't need to do it through my xbox.

- You can use used games
- You dont need an internet connection to play games
- Online is less than $5 a month
- More powerful from a hardware POV
- $100 less than the one because the camera isn't included
- They let indie game makers make games, so a solid line up of new titles
- *LOOKS like they havent made a custom headset port to gain a monopoly over the headset market like xbox has attempted
- Also comes with a headset now and HDMI cable. (predicting a better online community)

I think ps4 appeals to gamers whereas xbox appeals to some perfect american family who wants to tell their xbox to flick to TV.

Hmm, at UVic they give each dorm a certain amount of bandwidth per month, then you're Internet slows down a lot once you used it up. There is still an option to install your own personal shaw unlimited Internet for $20 a month as well, which is what I did

The outcome of the Xbox One really disappointed me I must say... I have always had an Xbox, but the fan base they built up over the past 7 years with the 360 seems to be gone. At this point the only reason I would want the Xbox One is because it has Halo, but I can keep my 360 for that, in the long run the PS4 will be a better investment. I like to game, I don't need a entertainment hub.

For us, the future comes in the form of Xbox One, a system designed to be the best place to play games this year and for many years to come. As is our heritage with Xbox, we designed a system that could take full advantage of advances in technology in order to deliver a breakthrough in game play and entertainment. We imagined a new set of benefits such as easier roaming, family sharing, and new ways to try and buy games. We believe in the benefits of a connected, digital future.

Since unveiling our plans for Xbox One, my team and I have heard directly from many of you, read your comments and listened to your feedback. I would like to take the opportunity today to thank you for your assistance in helping us to reshape the future of Xbox One.

You told us how much you loved the flexibility you have today with games delivered on disc. The ability to lend, share, and resell these games at your discretion is of incredible importance to you. Also important to you is the freedom to play offline, for any length of time, anywhere in the world.

So, today I am announcing the following changes to Xbox One and how you can play, share, lend, and resell your games exactly as you do today on Xbox 360. Here is what that means:

  • An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games – After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.

  • Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today – There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360.

In addition to buying a disc from a retailer, you can also download games from Xbox Live on day of release. If you choose to download your games, you will be able to play them offline just like you do today. Xbox One games will be playable on any Xbox One console -- there will be no regional restrictions.

These changes will impact some of the scenarios we previously announced for Xbox One. The sharing of games will work as it does today, you will simply share the disc. Downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold. Also, similar to today, playing disc based games will require that the disc be in the tray.

We appreciate your passion, support and willingness to challenge the assumptions of digital licensing and connectivity. While we believe that the majority of people will play games online and access the cloud for both games and entertainment, we will give consumers the choice of both physical and digital content. We have listened and we have heard loud and clear from your feedback that you want the best of both worlds.

Thank you again for your candid feedback. Our team remains committed to listening, taking feedback and delivering a great product for you later this year.
