Always been kind of curious on this one. In general, I've looked to powder skis with a little bit of camber for better performance in less than ideal conditions, but I've never skied on a fully rockered ski, so how does that compare and far as edging/playfulness?
And I know this is super general and I'm not talking about any specific skis
Full rocker will generally be a lot less hooky and more surfy in pow, some with really abrupt rocker will be crappy on hardpack, but some like the volkl gotama will have really solid edge contact from tip to tail because the rocker is more subtle. Hope I helped
Yeah I mean rocker will always have less edge hold and be more turnier, whereas a cambered ski will have more edge hold and take some more work to ski. Then the obvious, rocker skis float better, and cambered skis don't float as well. Then again it all depends the actual ski itself. Width, amount of rocker, stiffness, and length all have major roles in how the ski works with the snow.
