move a lot, dont sit. seriously ive noticed that on this camping/lake trip i go on for like 10 days once or twice every summer, i by far eat the most absolute crap and huge amounts of it, but i loose quite a bit of weight for just 10 days. while at home i eat pretty damn healthy workout probably once a day on average but maintain my weight.
the difference is that rather than 1 hour worth of physical activity/working out and eating super healthy, on the camping trips im up at like 8, go to bed at like 11 and in those 15 hours im awake, i probably spend like 3-4 at most sitting. the rest of the time im walking, swimming, standing, doing something active (climbing wakeboarding etc..) and even if im sitting, im doing something. and i just eat pounds of straight candy/bread/ and crap, and lose weight.
anyway, i know its hard to stay that active all day, but my point is, rather than sitting all day and doing 1 hour of hard, intense workout, spread it out. i went from my workout being about an hour, but pretty damn intense for that hour, to a 10-15 minute run/bike ride, jumping jacks, whatever kind of cardio i can do in the morning, another if i can in the middle of the day, and one at the end of the day for maybe like 30 minutes, and it makes a big difference, definitely made me a lot leaner and just feel more "loose" and good feeling.
and find fun things to do, luckily i enjoy running, so its easy for me to do it, but i also can spend hours and hours mtn biking or just biking around town after work or on weekends and cant get enough.
diet wise, drink lots of water, green tea/tea in general in place of juice/soda, dont be afraid of big fatty meat products, steak and beef for me at least works better chicken/fish, probably partly because its so damn satisfying. and in general im just a lot less hungry when i have some kind of beef every day. i like to eat tons of fruit too, but some people dont do too well with fruit, so find what works for you. eat breakfast but not a huge one, its easy to eat like 1000 calories for breakfast and have to starve yourself the rest of the day to make up for it. avoid sugar, though i like sugar for when im doing physical activity so long as its in fruit form or a GOOD energy drink/gel/energy gummy block thing.
