Filming help

I am in a media crew called East Coast Chronicles (feel free to like us on facebook) I am fine at filming stationary shots, but every time I try to do a follow cam it always sucks and the camera is never steady or pointing at the action.  Any tips?  I have a super cheep steady cam and a Canon Rebel t3.  Also I want to start filming aerial shots using a drone and a Gopro hero 3.  Any drones under $500 with battery life over 20 min?  Finally do any of you have experience filming with a drone and have any tips?

For steady shots hand held, experience helps to keep it clean but I know image stabilizers can do a good job nowaday although you don't want to rely on it for a total steady shot. You would prefer a steadycam or a dolly. What is your camera ? if it's quite a big one, use easyrigs.
But you know, shaky footage isn't always ugly, it all depends on what you are shooting.

Skimmed though your post OP, but it seems like you're going to need to invest into a stabilizer. I have the old Glidecam 2000 Pro and it works fine. Get that, you can get them relatively cheap and they might be hard to set up, but the final product will be nice.
