Well, it helps if you pick the right statistics. The Seahawks didn't punt the football until the third quarter. They didn't have a ton of net yards, because they didn't need them - the defense was simply absurd. What was their average starting field position in the first half? The turnover ratio was +4 for Seattle, and they scored 21 points off turnovers. Including the other 7 from Harvin on the kickoff return, that's game. The offense didn't have to do much of anything. And the offense didn't lose them anything - they were mostly unremarkable but solid and didn't cough up the ball.
Why is it at all surprising that the NFL's best defense was responsible for winning a football game?
It's actually pretty hilarious to read this page given that even hardcore Broncos fans aren't trying to blame the loss on the refs. They have plenty of other ideas about who's at fault, but they pretty much wear orange jerseys.
When you lose a game by <10 points, there's an argument that a couple of bad calls were to blame, or the weather, or a fluke bounce. When you lose by 35, the better team won. That's so obvious it's hilarious that it even needs to be pointed out.
