i know i am a chargers fan. but i seriously cannot think of a more direct example of "everything evens out". two horseshit calls on FGs. both highly probable to change the direction of the game.

i think the chargers showed that they belong against cincy. end of question. noone talks about ray rice's 4th-and-29 which was short by close to a foot being ruled incorrectly which in effect allowed the ravens to go on their run last year?

You're 100% correct on the ray rice play last year, that's just how football works. Chargers have been slaying it and definitely deserve to be at this point. Chargers vs Broncos is going to be such a good game i can't wait. Going to come down to who executes and plays the full 60 minutes the best..



Not going to lie i'm going to be so bummed if we loose twice to the chargers in a month..

i kinda feel bad about that game. we dropped a few new packages on peyton in that last game and it really worked. you bet he studied all of that stuff and wont be surprised this time.

i know i have to ride this underdog/surprise team of the year thingy, but broncos are clear as day favourites, no doubt about it.

what could tip it towards the chargers is that whole pressure thing: denver HAS TO win it. best offense in NFL history? you better win it all. remember how noone talks all that positive about the pats perfect regular season? because they were dominant, toying with opponents and couldnt finish it.

if some kind of doubt/"here we go again"-mentality/too much pressure stuff goes on with the broncos, there might be a chance tho.

cant wait for the game and may the better team win.

best would be a chargers-pats afc championship game. i couldnt really lose in that scenario, haha.

This. Which is why I think the Chargers have a great shot. Being division opponents it already makes it a tough game, since they've played twice already and know the offense. Peyton has historically underperformed in the playoffs.

Key for the chargers, bring the heat on Peyton, he can't really take hits, and he sure as hell isn't mobile.

I can't wait for this weekend, hopefully the Vikings will be competitive again in the next 50 years (lol year right.)

actually, i disagree.

the key to peyton is getting him uncomfortable, yes, but in the second game, what really won it, was their 3-man rush package.

i thought it was great. like they give peyton a lot of time. usually, he will make you pay, right? not in that game. sometimes they disguised it well, showed 6 man up and dropped different people every snap. but on other downs, especially 3rd and plus 10, they didnt even disguise it. straight up: peyton, these three guys will come, the other guys will play zone, go beat us. and he couldnt.

i think the chargers got more aggressive calling blitzes, calling creative blitzes, but they also play good zone coverage recently when the QB has some time to throw.

That is brilliant, since Peyton is all about adjusting at line. I'm pumped to watch it, and pulling for the chargers all the way.

Side note, do you guys think if the Broncos win Peyton will retire? Kinda like Elway, or will he play out his last year of the contract (it was a three year deal right?)

Second side note, it's still fun seeing all the packer fans sulk at work (its majority Packer fans, live right on the boarder of MN/WI) of course when they squeaked into the playoffs they all figured the superbowl was in the bag, now they are depressed. At least for us Vikings fans our superbowl hopes were gone by week 5.

If I were Jack Del Rio I would constantly put eight in the box to stop the run. That of course would mean that all the Chargers receivers would be matched up one-one vs. the Broncos secondary and would make them vulnerable to a big play but so be it. The Broncos must stop the run and not allow conversions on third downs so they can get the ball in Mannings hands. If the Chargers are going to score than let them score. Make it a shoot out cause I'll take Manning and the Broncos offense all day in a shoot out.

The Broncos also have DRC and Welker back which is huge and will cause problems for the Chargers. Welker is a beast on third down and thats what doomed the Broncos last time these two teams played.

welker had like 3 catches in the first meeting. not saying he wont have an impact, but they were able to control him.

and DRC played in the second game, no? i know he still played in the 2nd qtr of that game since he busted (probably) the coverage on allens hurdle TD.

Nope DRC didn't play a single snap in the second game, that was Duke Ihenahco that blew the coverage on that Allen TD.

Welker may of only had three catches but his presence alone in that game completely changed the scheme the Chargers D had in that first game than the one they had in the second. He created mismatches in that game that weren't there in the second. Plus he wasn't needed as much in that first game cause the Broncos weren't constantly forced into 3rd and long situations like they were in the second game. Having Welker on 3rd and long situations compared to not having him makes a world of difference.

It may sound crazy and ridiculous, but the Broncos defense is better w/ out Von Miller. They're 8-0 w/ out him being in the line-up compared to being 5-3 with him in. Their more creative in their blitz packages when he's not playing.

i know quality is shitty, but during the replay he says that DRC passed allen off to, well, noone.


obviously welker will change the game, but the first game was the second worst output by the broncos offense. so the two worst games the broncos offense put up in 2013 were BOTH against the chargers.

all in all, i really wouldnt bet 30 bucks on a SD win, to be honest. i just know that they will give denver all they can handle and i wouldnt be surprised if they did pull it off, since they are playing better football defensively than at the beginning of the season.

i know this "stat" that they are better off without miller. but in the playoffs, its always good to have a guy that can make that game changing strip sack.

I was scam hater in college, then fan rookie year, then hater during the sophomore slump. but now I'm back on the bandwagon prob just since he stopped eating meat which is admittedly a silly reason but it also just seems like he's a lot more mature and sincere now.

Not like he would ever throw the game but Ken Wisenhunt has to have a small part of him thats secretly hoping they lose. IMO he's the best available head coaching option and hasn't even been able to interview yet.

seattle has the sickest color scheme, I wish I had any type of ties to the west coast so I could justify buying any gear haha.

I'm rooting for INDY, NINERS, and BRONCOS, as for the saints and seahawks, I really like both teams. as long as the pats lose before the superbowl I'll be happy. for what I think will happen though;

I'm taking colts hawks panthers ands broncos. Yeah I'm a colts fan but they match up really well against the patriots. Our run defense has been awesome and if we don't give up huge plays in the secondary we will be money.

true. but there should still be a legit option available for him whenever the chargers go home. could obviously be tomorrow (more likely, although i obviously hope otherwise). i think he is a good coach and it would be nice for the chargers to retain him, but mccoy is an offensive guy himself, so there wont be that much turnover.

I'm not going to argue with you, because its clear now that you have something against seahawks fans period, which obviously began before this play--which is fine.

We have a difference of opinion on this play, fine.

talking down to me and calling me a sweetheart and clueless is just condescending and rude, though, and has nothing to do with football, or the play.

I think the Seahawks are similar to Sporting KC here, football team in a soccer town vs a soccer team in a football town. Got new uniforms. Got cool new stadiums. Got good. Then the fans showed up. They almost seem more like companies than teams

that is so not true. sure, there are probably some bandwagon fans, like there would be in any city that had a team who looked superbowl bound, but the reality is that the seahawks have gotten zero national coverage since 2005, until we got wilson. sorry that we were off the radar and no one was paying attention until we were contenders, but that doesn't mean we're bandwagon fans-- it means the rest of the nation is.

i look at other games in other stadiums and cannot believe how many empty seats there are. seahawks games have been packed since as long as i can remember.

we fucking sucked with travaris jackson and whitehurst and we were there then, too.
