Grew up right outside of DC and to be honest, I think Bob Costas hit it spot on. Is anyone intending the name in a racist manner? Or trying to degrade native americans? Of course not in this day and age. But that doesn't mean that the name isn't offensive to some and shouldn't be changed. Imagine if it were the blackskins or brownskins, it would never fly. The people crying about political correctness sound like morons to because it doesn't address the issue, it just says I know it's wrong but why should I have to br right because you think so?

There is 80 years of history surrounding the name and team, so it would be a major change. But the redskins were the last team to desegregate and were practically forced to, so it is not like all of the history is good. The song even used to say "fight for old dixie" not "fight for old dc". So things have changed before.

I think the fix is pretty simple. Keep the exact same colors, exact same song, exact same logo, exact same mascot but change it to the Washington Warriors. Our logo is much less offensive than the Cleveland Indians but that is ok because of their name. No need to reinvent the wheel here. Just change it to Warriors. If that still offends people, then get rid of the chiefs, indians, blackhawks, etc.

People need to understand that from the DC standpoint, we are very sensitive to name changes. We now have the Washington Wizards for god sake. The Washington Bullets was a great name and should be changed back pronto!

Quite frankly, I'm ready for people to get over it cuz it isn't gonna stop. so just do it. Would like to here others thoughts.

because one player pushing forward from behind his own player is really a threat to safety? especially on a fucking kick like that where it's just a massive scrum of bodies trying to block it.

The call in the Broncos game was abit BS too. Yes the guy did bump Luck a bit, but by no means does that deserve a penalty. The NFL has turned into a bunch of pussies running it and soon the game is gonna be shit. Players know the risks when they play the game, I don't think we need to removed elements of the game people love if it is a known risk when you participate.



Last night I was watching some college football and a hit like this one below happened on a RB bubble screen. Guy gets hit low as hes turning to run up field. The announcers say "That shouldn't be legal. A hit like that on a defenseless receiver, you shouldn't be allowed to go at the legs." Other announcer says, "Yea, there should be some kind of strike zone"

WTF Are you serious??? A fucking strike zone where you are allowed to hit a player. If that ever happens I will never watch football again.
