-somewhat excited about Fisher, he's supposed to be pretty mean/dirty and we need a guy like that, we lost or didn't even react in pretty much every shoving match last year
-longshot projection; Seattle (5-1 to 7-1 odds to win superbowl) will lose at least 7 games this year.
Frank Zombo saw my friend driving and wanted to buy his car so thats how they met. Then yesterday he brought Eric Fisher with him to the BBQ.
It was ok having them there, kinda killed the vibe bc nearly everyone was acting different around them. Me and my friend smoked them in bags 22-9 but they had a rule that you have to land exactly on 21 so we smoked them again.
6 beers later, a sober Frank wants to play again for money. I accept, we lose, and within 2 seconds of losing he is asking me for his money. Pretty lame considering there were dozens of bets made last night and he was the only one who actually cared about collecting. Plus, like I said he's the only sober one playing a drinking game... I'm probably just bitter but I can't see myself ever cheering for him lol.
can't believe Jawalrus Ruffles actually has a chance at this comeback, kinda rooting for him now.
Finally watched the Elway to Marino 30 for 30 the other day, I can't believe they managed to make something so boring, probably the worst one I've seen.
Hoping for a superbowl (like everyone else for their teams) but I'd be happy with another competitive team....it's just fun to be able to watch AP all season.
Also, it's the last year in the dome, hoping to go the the last viking vs. packer game at the dome.
I'm an avid Pats fan and I'm not stoked one bit. I'm hoping he's been brought aboard to play any of the following positions:
-Right Benchwarmer
-Left out
-Field Goal Tee-r (actually makes sense since any fakes can be tossed by someone. although i dont trust him at all)
-Belichick's personal bitch
definitely all publicity (saw your post, and i posted in the "tebow to the pats thread)....I can't see any play time given to Tebow other than a few snaps at HB
i am kinda stoked (pats are "my" 2nd team) because the patriots are not the utter mess the jets are and i dont think they would bring him in if they werent sure he ends up on the roster. i think they have some kind of plan for him.
i see it as being one of these things, or a mixture of all of them:
1) he could run a scout-offense to prepare the defense for all this read-option stuff going on around the league.
2) he is a non-starting QB that has special teams value. a lot of guys "without an NFL position" are good special teamers.
3) maybe they will give him some "wild-cat" snaps, or with him in a read-option scheme (doubtful, because brady will be off the field).
4) he could be used to step in for brady if he goes down (unlikely that this is a major reason, because you would have to transform your regular system).
5) then, he could be used as a part of a completely new offensive system, where he lines up all over the field like an H-back with some kind of option to pass/run/pitch after he gets the ball from brady (would be cool but also highly doubtful).
also dont forget, brady is the starter, everyone knows that. the pats also handle the media pretty good. kind of the perfect spot for tebow to sit and learn for a few years. if it works out for the pats, noone knows.
the pats are not about publicity. they benched welker for talking too much. moss was gone after these weird press conferences and interviews. not saying that was the main reasons, but the pats are a very quiet team despite all their success.
i dont think we will hear all that much from tebow. remember the jets presented him like a first-rounder with his own press conference. wont happen this time. i also dont think he will give any interviews the next weeks.
^^ All possible options...or how about Belichick has just ridiculously schemed in the off season and has some crazy new offense planned where him and Brady are out there at all times....pretty much like you stated in your Hback idea.
i am kind of excited to see what this is all about. maybe it will turn out as nothing, but i am still excited to see what bill and josh have up in their sleeves for tebow.
just watched belichicks press conference. this dude is so great at presenting his charming personality to reporters, its not even funny.
shit was hilarious: "i dont know", "well like any transaction, anyone in the organization kind of voiced their opinion", "we will see", "go ask themselves", "thank you".
I pretty much like all of them, the Dolphins look cleaner, the Vikings look less flamboyant, the Jags are kinda crazy but they're a relatively new team so it fits.
such a shame, he was a good player, good allrounder, played RB, FB, TE, H-back and WR at times.
obviously pats are in business as long as brady is there, but i seriously doubt (even as a fan) that they have enough firepower to beat the best defenses in december and january. they had problems when gronk and hernandez werent on the field together.
I hate the pats too but I actually kinda liked their tight ends who are both having problems right now
At first I thought he was just a witness but now Im starting to think he's the one who pulled the trigger. If not then he's one hell of a friend to whoever did.
ruff is relative. given the pats past success, anything less then AFC championship game is a dissapointment. still think they can win the division since their D is a lot better than most people think. especially against the run and in the red zone.
philly WILL do well. they played with basically only 2nd and 3rd stringers on their oline. thats not gonna cut it. they get a 4th overall pick type of tackle through the draft and get peters back (if hes healthy). center and one guard as well if i remember correctly. defense is the bigger question though. a lot of turnover. vick is a top-notch QB with an at least average line.
obviously chiefs should be better, but i always think they are overrated for such a bad team. i know they had bad QBing, but their probowlers (not that pro bowls mean THAT much) seemingly everywhere still only made it to a 2-14 season. thats bad. no matter who your QB is.
saints obviously will be better again, but they have a tough division, maybe the best top-to-bottom. they could end up anywhere.
seattle and 49rs both will be good, but they almost receive too much hype. sometimes its hard to keep that up. when everyone tells you how good you are, you might get complacent. and their division is also a tough one.
dolphins, idk. could be good, could be bad. i am not a big fan of ellerbe, so idk if their D will be improved that much. they should have problems running the ball. tannehill is underrated tho.
broncos vs seattle, well cant argue too much with that. but with the broncos, its the same shiny world thing. its almost like they should hand them the lombardi (or at least the AFC crown) right now. thats never good. cowboys, chargers and philly fans know how good it is when your team is considered the "most talented" team.
i just hope that the chargers are in the playoff hunt until the end for meaningful games, this whole rebuilding might take at least another year.
my next fav team are the pats. they should win the division again for some playoff games.
then teams i usually liek more than the teams they play: panthers, eagles (only if vick starts), seahawks and maybe the vikings and the 49ers. hopefully most of them make the playoffs. its always not so much fun when the conference championship games and the SB are played by teams you dont care about.
