What exactly are you trying to do?
Mac or PC?
Why not audacity?

Cool, I'm assuming you're trying to record yourself playing an instrument or put beats together or something then.

Reaper is an amazing program, technically its $30, however their demo has no restrictions and no time limit, so you can essentially use the full program for as long as you want just by downloading the demo.
Just as good as any other program out there, and way more versatile than audacity.
