Wow, that CD really sucked. I mean, I could listen to a few songs again but overall that whole CD just sucked. Especially coming from someone with so much skill. I honestly think Riff Raff's latest mixtape was better it is that bad.

Bound 2 is actually really good. Although i may not be a huge fan of this album, I have to applaud Kanye for once again pushing as many boundaries as possible and evolving Hip-Hop, as well as music for what's possible.

yeah the Junos are so lame. I mean there are tons of great Canadian bands, but being happy about an award that limits the entries for a pretty arbitrary reason is dumb. they may as well have the music awards only for people with brown hair, or people with flat feet

I absolutely love the album. Kanye brings music to the next level with every album. In my opinion he is the most important person in music right now, especially in rap music. Who else do you hear about slaving away to make sure EVERYTHING is as good as it can be. What other rapper do you hear about re-cutting a song 20 plus times to make sure it's as good as it can be? What other musician has 6 albums that all sound different?
All rap and hip hop these days have the same structure. The sames dudes all saying the same shit in three minute songs with three verses. Kayne's given us 6,7,8 minute songs that don't follow the same monotonous structure.
His music is actually saying something. He may not be the best lyricist, but at least his songs have a point. they have meaning. Its funny that a lot of times the same people who buy into the, "kill people, some weed, I've got guns im so gangster" bullshit rap music that plagues the mainstream are the same ones to call this "commercialized garbage" when it's the farthest thing from it.
Like it or not Kanye is the biggest innovator in any form of popular music.

well they got successful from relatively decent music (if you're into that, i'll admit to having bought The Long Road when i was like 11, back when we couldn't listen to albums before buying them (probably the same reason they managed to sell so many albums was that they were around before mp3s took over)), the reason they became a joke was because they literally copied their own shit over and over again and never did anything remotely interesting ever again. same as Lil Wayne's free music was better than all of the shit he made after he started selling albums. i don't think anybody gets as successful as Nickelback or Kanye while being "absolute garbage," if that was true the rappers on this site would be successful by now. almost everyone can agree College Dropout was good, and of course almost everyone disagrees on this album, but it doesn't change the fact that at one point, Kanye made what was arguably the best hip-hop album of the decade. i thought 808's kinda sucked, but i also recall Kanye saying it was an experiment and he didn't care if anybody bought it (and was actually talking about giving it away for free at one point). I really doubt RZA, Jay-Z, Nas, Common, Mos Def, Raekwon, Daft Punk, Bon Iver, John Legend, etc. would work with Kanye if he was "absolute garbage." unless you're of the opinion that all those guys are garbage too, in which case you must be delusional.

I have the utmost respect for Kanye. I think he's an extremely talented and revolutionary artist, both as a producer and a rapper, he helped restart Jay-Z's career, he pushed hip-hop forwards in plenty of ways, raised the bar for everyone in rap.

With that being said, Yeezus is not very good. It had some good songs, but it was behind every other album he's dropped besides 808's and Heartbreak. J. Cole's album was a lot better as a hip-hop album, even an album in general. Yeezus WAS. NOT. GOOD. Kanye West is good, Yeezus was not.

I personally believe that the album was very good. I'm not going to go into the specifics of why I like it, but I respect other people's musical tastes. I think some people need to learn how to do that.

Album sales arent equal to critical acclaim. Music critics, and industry folks far and wide love Kanye. Not even just hip hop industry folks, music people in general. Not even just the Grammys either. I never made a mention of album sales for exactly that reason. Bieber sells a ton of albums, doesnt mean hes a great artist.



If you dont like Ye, you dont like him. Thats fine. Im sure theres awesome artists out there I just dont like. But to claim that what he puts out is nothing but top 40 garbage is quite simply wrong and ridiculous. This album doesnt even have a single, its certainly not intended to be a chart topper. And I have zero idea how you could hate his production, even if you dislike his verses.

How come you always seem to make mindless comments when it comes to music? Just because you think they're garbage doesn't negate the fact that millions of people like them. For most musicians, the goal is to get people to like their music. Nickelback is easily one of the most talented bands in this regard.
