Lol because it's R U Ready with a bad Etta James sample and pianos playing the wrong chords.
Can't embed because I'm on Amtrak but here:
R U Ready is one of my favorite TNGHT tracks, and I think Blood On The Leaves is the worst track on Yeezus. It's the definition of jarring. Soft, sensitive pianos; a sample of a song about lynching in the Jim Crow South, gratingly cut up (those "blood on the leaves...—EAVES...—EAVES..."); lyrics about relationships gone bad; and interjecting blaring horns with an overpowering bass line. Nothing makes sense with anything else.
That said, I liked Yeezus. I'm a little disappointed though. I wanted more of the album to be like the lead singles. Instead we get two really, truly forward thinking tracks that challenge the status quo and don't pull any punches about what's really going on—in the industry, in today's society, so on—and then kind of a lot more hedonism and narcissism. I'll still buy it, still listen to it, and I'll still be a Kanye fan, but this was kind of a letdown for me.
