ever since 808's i havent thought of kanye as a rapper, he definitely should not be mentioned in the same breath as the likes of rick ross, lil wayne, drake, i dont even know the rest, he is nothing like them. He takes music to a new level, i am so glad he is going in the direction he is, forgetting about the popularity and making pure art, i fucking hate rap but kanye will always be one of my favorite "musicians" of all time.

Figured out I've been listening to Kane for almost 10 years now, purchased the college dropout In the summer of 2004 when I was 8 fucking years old! Think I have to go with late registration as my favourite album though, so many good songs that have never gotten old.

Stoked to see where he takes this album, and future albums for that matter.

I mean, really? Dude isn't in the middle of an artistic flourishing, he's in the middle of an ego trip. If he actually stood for something aside from being an obnoxious, loudmouthed asshole then I'd be less apt to shit on him, but he is every bit about the attention and not at all about creating art anymore. It's just more proof you can't buy class IMO.

Please don't confuse my words with hate for his success. Good for him, I just don't give a fuck about his work anymore and I am actually dreading the release because every rap station on the planet will be spinning it until the wheels fall off whether it sucks or not.

While I agree with you that he does subtly troll the rap industry, I don't think that it detracts from his other work. That being said, I haven't liked much of his music since My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Oh and Daft Punk has been killing it lately

if the whole album was as good as the 2nd half of it. It'd be fucking AMAZING. I will jam to out to half of the album though. I'll listen to probably 9 out of the 10 songs on a regular basis. (on sight sucks so much dick)

Overall probably a 8/10

listened to the full album twice. not great, but better than I expected. way better than cruel summer. kind of felt like an extension or continuation of watch the throne for me. it had its moments. I just wish I could listen to a song that didn't have moments where my ears are like "wtf?" (i.e. random shrieking in "I am a God" which does have some good verses).

i'd being lying if i said ignant kanye isn't a guilty pleasure of mine, but i definite prefer old kanye and melodic rap in general much more than any of the new stuff he puts out.

Why the hell is Kanye a guilty pleasure, or considered a bad thing by anyone? Dude is more of an artist than almost anyone in hip hop right now, other than a select few. Haven't listened to the album yet, but from the snippets Ive heard, its Kanye evolving yet again. Dudes sound is constantly changing, and he is constantly pushing boundaries, both production wise, and to a lesser degree lyrically. I guarantee Kanye is one of your favorite rappers favorite producers/rappers, no matter what hip hop you like.
