So basically, you want to push park skiing into the main stream..
you realize, that like other sports, it could likely lead to parks being rented out and closed to all skiers who aren't on "the team" for blocks of the day. imagine going to the resort to ski park, being told you can't because it's closed for practice for the team, then you do it anyways and get your pass pulled because the team had the park rented out.
I think almost all parks are fine as they are, do you think so many parks lack so many features that they need to troll for sponsorships more? think about the widening gap, when so many people ski on a park team with a schedule chock full of practices and competitions that are fully coached, features will likely become more extreme. That's great, except to all of the others of "us" who ski park in their free time and not as a full time sport (although i knwo many on here probably do), and the talent gap will be that much wider. doesn't it piss you off enough already that people like shawn white, once they make it, become all the more unbeatable because who the fuck else can build their own halfpipe complete with foam pit? fuck that, i love seeing the casual skiers make it off of grit and determination. i'm not harping on shawn white because he got to the level he was at by long hours and determination, but look at all the stuff he has access to now
that's the great thing about park. if you want to be on a fucking team, go play basketball or hockey. i'll keep my park as it is, and I will excercize my choice to use drugs/alcohol if i want to as well
I nominate am-park as biggest hunk of shit on newschoolers, above skierman, for the suggestion
sorry for the book, I'm pissed!
