no one is ever going to go out and shoot for a day and than just give some random guy all the clips...

Ive seen just about ever new m&a'er make this thread and have it blow up in there face.

I'm very doubtful, and even if they did I guarantee it was shitty gopro footage. If anybody can produce decent footage there is no way that they'll be handing it over to somebody with no evidence of any experience. I could understand you asking for clips for you to get better at editing but in no way should you think you're doing anybody a service by accepting the footage that they've most likely put considerable amount of work into.
