Well okay then. Racing helps, but you don't need to have raced to be good. There's plenty of pros without racing backgrounds. I'm won't argue anymore, think what you want.

I never raced, and I'd say I have damn good fundamentals. I have been skiing for 15 years, took lessons for 7 of those, taught for 2 years, and have skied with people who emphasize form. Racing helps, but it's not crucial. You can still learn other ways

This thread is bogus......unless you are talking about racing moguls. I would argue that far more of the good skiers out there have a freestyle background rather than a traditional racing background. OP, go back under your bridge, you troll. If you can slay a bump line, go off a jump and continue to slay the bump line, then you are going to have better fundamentals over the traditional racer.....don't even argue with me because ain't nobody got time for this shit.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on racing.

well first of all this thread sucks and second of all if we are going to actually talk about kids at hood the majority of the better freestyle skiers who are in high school do have a racing background, whether club or just high school. your a stupid fucker. most importantly most hood kids ski meadows even more than tline which is not really a park mountain at all, having fun at meadows consists of hitting a bunch of eric pollard style side hits and tommy ellingson style cliffs and booters, because we dont have anything close to a top to bottom park run over there.

i was on a ski team once but only made it to one practice because I also played hockey.

where the fuck do you learn your switch "fundamentals" ski racing then? seems like growing up on skates playing forward, defense, teaches you some damn good fundamentals with sticks on your feet. and I'm sure I'm not the only one here who played hockey

or do you just do helicopters all day *woo*
