this video and ones like it piss me off. how do you know the guy didnt rape a girl or shoot someone before he started recording? (I know I'm exaggerating, but still.) The video starts after theres already 3 or 4 officers on scene. The guy obviously did something to get 4 cops knocking at his door.

Cops don't know what the guy could've been hiding from and on a domestic disturbance call if the people are having the altercation inside the cops can legally come in with probable cause. They don't know if the arguing was directed at an adult or child. If it was a child that'd be fucked up.

I am a resident of california and it isn't a police state... just a prison state. Ba dum tss

It doesn't matter what they were investigating. No warrant no search and seizure. A reasonable cop who doesn't see himself above the law would have gone to the courts to get a warrant. This is police brutality. No doubt about it.

I thought they had something where if there's reason to suspect a crime has happened they can go search. Kind of like if they smell marijuana in your car. They can search without warrant. And with a call on domestic violence or something, they definitely have a reason to suspect. Especially with kids in th house.

hahaha you realize how stupid these people sound. I love people who try to argue with cops. It does absolutely nothing. They can take you into the station for having a bad hair day and annoy the shit out of you until you stop arguing. In any contact with the police just do with they say or run away. There is no in between.

thats bullshit, everyone thinks they know the law and pulls out crap like this as if its un refutable. The guy in the video was doing the same thing as you.

I dont know the law myself THAT well but I do know the simple fact that a police officer can enter a home without a warrant if there is danger or a good reason for him to intervene.

With your logic there could be a fire in a house as a cop is walking by. The cop would have to call headquarters so a warrant can be issued, printed and shown to the owner? there are exceptions to the laws that you flash around just like there is most likely a back story in this video and a law that allows him to enter.

exactly. If there is probably cause (a 911 call about domestic violence) or someone could be in immanent danger (he could have just killed his wife or kid in the back room where the cops cant see) then the police can enter without a warrant.

don't ever listen to anyone who tells you this. you have rights and you god damn better stick up for them. cops absolutely will back off if they know the person knows what's up.

example:

quite a few years ago I was walking to a friends place and go by a high school house party that is in the process of being broken up by police. I was wearing a backpack. after passing a little way down the street a cop car comes up to me and the cop demands that he search my bag. I said he had no reason for the search and that I wasn't going to allow him to. his words were "try and stop me". I said I have absolutely nothing illegal in my bag then asked for his name and badge number and he says 'that won't be necessary, I believe you' and backs off. end of story.

He was clearly stepping over my rights in that situation and was trying to use intimidation to help him. treat them like a pet in these situations. if they always get what they want they will expect it and become more aggressive when they don't get it even if it steps over the line. if they are always forced to follow the law then they will be much more likely to follow the law on their own.

A neighbour called the cops on them because of domestic violence.. Nothing will ever get done if cops constantly need search warrants for everything.
Also, for all the cops know some kid could be held locked and tied, about to get killed in a room like in Cleveland. Had the cops taken time to get search warrants after an immediate call, on a immediate issue it would have been too late.
So let the cops do their job with minimal obstruction, so that gas/time spent at the expense of our taxes is well spent.

good I hope they kicked him a little after they shocked his ass. people think they are such hot shit because they watch cops and have a mediocre understanding of the law. that guy was being a fuck head. when the cops tell you to come outside and you say NO I DONT HAVE DO AND YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO COME IN, you just sound guilty as fuck.

you say this like they are evil and all out to fuck you over because you dont know your rights.

In your case you were right to question his reasoning and ask for his info. You had an example of a police officer not playing very fair and you defended yourself.

In this case: Cops are called for a Domestic Violence case. There are two children which he can not visually confirm are present or safe and the guy is nervous, breathing hard being a dick and refusing them entry to confirm what he is saying is true.

Since he can not visually confirm that the kids are alright and the guy wont let him in, he needs to take action and issuing a warrant leaves enough time to destroy evidence.

Put yourself in the polices shoes: A neighboor calls because he hears screaming. You show up for a usual DV call where you usually go in and discuss with the couple to see what the issue was. This guy is breathing hard and refusing to let you into a dark home where you cant see everyone involved. The wife sais shes alright (they always do) but you cant see through the window if shes hiding any bruises. Now the situation gets interesting when you find out that there are two kids also. You ask to see if they are ok and the guy just sais one is in the back playing instead of getting the kid and removing suspicions. All of this is fishy, this is where the cop draws the line and enters because he can not properly confirm that the child is safe.

Its simple, you dont want police abuse, dont act like this and push their buttons for no reason. Do as they say and film it if you really want to protect yourself its your right. But obstructing police when they are there to confirm your safety is just plain stupid.

the only person in my life that i have ever been seriously injured by was a cop. the only person i have anything to fear from around here is a cop. that's nice and all for those of you who haven't had your ass kicked by a gang of burly men with weapons, but i have never met a cop who was nice to me until AFTER he had given me a few bruises, then they're real fucking nice. then they're so fucking nice they'll buy you a coffee and drive you home and give you their card and tell you to call them if you ever get in any trouble. i had a cop jump on my fucking head and then apologize to me for half an hour afterward, but that doesn't change the fact that my head hurt for weeks. have they caught all the murderers and rapists yet? no. then they should get their fucking priorities straight and stop harassing and brutalizing people who have done nothing wrong.

not always.....a buddy of mine had got pulled over, highway patrol #1 says "i smell weed, step out of the car please" friend said no, i know my rights, i dont agree to any searches. #1 walks back to his car, calls in highway patrol #2. #2 walks up to his car, and throws my buddy out of the car. my buddy then got #2 onto the ground in a headlock, at which point #1 stepped in and got him off of his patrol buddy. at that point they searched his car, found a quarter pound of weed and an ounce of shrooms. buuuut all that got thrown out in court because officer #2 was a dickass about it and ripped him from his car. so, usually, they just get all huffy and then fuck up, making the charges get thrown out. shit i got out of a dui cause the cops are dumbass and didnt have any reason to suspect me of dui.

I didn't actually watch the video with sound. so I got nothing out of it and had no idea what was going on. my anecdote and statement are completely unrelated.

and I never eluded to them being all out to get you. although a few of them are there for power, the majority in this country are there to protect others. I fully realize we're far far better off with them then without them.
