Backyard Setup

Trying to convince my dad to let me build a backyard setup. Although I would pay for it/build it/maintain it, he is against it
He thinks that it will ruin all the grass in my backyard, and that it is an eyesore.
I was hoping for some advice on convincing my dad to let me build it.

I had the same problem. Gather alot of information, plan everything out. If you are extremely prepared and have a well thought out plan it will show maturity and that you really want it. Thats What I did. Hope this helps. Also, if your parents think it will be an eye sore, try to make one that can be put away.

it is treu ite will ruin your grass depending on the way your yard is facing but what you can do is not put plywood on the drop in and just have 2 by 4's going across and rap them in turf, it will keep the grass good and allow better speed

My mom is the same way! She is a huge gardener so it's even worse with her because everything looks bad to her except her garden! I'm still trying to figure it out but it will help to make a collapsable one/ one that can be put away.

Read back to the first page. My buddy used a skid steer to move all the snow around, all 17 truck loads of it. All of that snow was from a parking lot to, so it wasn't the cleanest snow. If you're using the snow from your yard, that's pure stuff. As long as you have frozen ground, and a decent layer of snow, you won't hurt anything by being in there with a shovel and your boots.

Then read forward to my latest post and pictures. Grass is very alive and very well, hardly any gravel. And that was 3 weeks ago already. Shits green now. Has to be one of the best examples of doable, and yard safe a setup is. If that much snow, that much equipment, and it being shredded pretty hard isn't, then I dunno what is.

Go on youtube and show your dad a video of it working. I just finished mine a few weeks ago and once I showed my dad the video and that I would pay for it, the paying for it part is key, he gave me the go ahead. There is a video of mine on my profile. Not trying to self promote here just trying to give you an idea of what it could loom like. Good luck

i build one a few summers ago, make it collapsible, and let er rip! even if you never take it down it helps mentally. at least it did with my parents
