Moving to Phoenix

Hey NS, happy Monday

I'm moving to Phoenix soon and I'm pretty excited to get back to a place with outdoor activities and scenery after spending the last year or so in Texas. I'll only be there about a year before I get a more permanent assignment, so I was hoping to get some tips on a bucket list for the area/state. Obviously I love to ski but tips on mountain biking, river floats, lakes, camping, rock climbing spots, etc. that I need to hit up in my short time there would be awesome. I also like to golf and I realize there's a ton of it there, if you have a recommendation hit me up!

I used to have a lot of family from Phoenix. LOVE Cheuy's. Plant a citrus tree in your backyard(if its big enough). My uncle had one and the oranges from it were bomb ass.

come to tucson... many more hilly/mountainous mountain bike trails that are very fun, and Mt. Lemmon for those hot summer days when it is 110 in town. A nice hike up there is amazing. Also if you are wanting to ski, go to flagstaff, not sunrise

Thanks a ton guys! ^^^ I have some friends who will be down in Tucson and I'm sure I'll visit. Been to Lake Powell and those other spots look sweet.

Sedona for sure. It isn't too far away from pheonix, but a great place to waste a day. If you go there, you will more than likely end up going to slide rock. Just remember that there is good cliff jumping under the bridge.

Havasupai is a blast I've been a few times. Spring is the best time to go, it's typical Arizona hot there in the Summer.

Going to try to do all this one weekend at a time. I guess I'll do the touristy stuff when it's hot as shit and I don't mind not mountain biking or something like that.

Do the drive from Phoenix to Tuscon, it's got some neat scenery along the way, I liked it anyways

Phoenix gets hot as hell due to all the concrete, but there are some surrounding areas that are better to beat the heat, and flagstaff is nice, at least it was like a decade ago when I lived there.

People can be kinda crazy there too, heat messes with your mind man when you live in a place as hot as phoenix.

Tubing on the Salt River. Arizona is a great state, not many places where you can drive 1.5 hours to go ski, then be back at the pool with palm trees later in the day.

Any tips on places to mountain bike? In the city or otherwise? Looking for smooth single track, climbing is fine. Trying to avoid techy stuff since we have some noobs in the group.
