I think it's ridiculous when people claim that they're against it simply because they believe marriage is a sacred covenant. Most of these people have no problem with the state of marriage, which many times is damn far from anything sacred. Even for the people who don't agree with divorce, vegas weddings, and all of that, you don't see people crying on facebook, sending tons of money, and bitching nonstop to keep that from happening.
All of the sudden when it involves gay people THEN suddenly the sanctity of marriage becomes the most important issue in the world.
If I married a dude how would that hurt your life? You don't know me, why would it matter? Why should other people be oppressed because they don't fit into your personal beliefs?
The religious objections are so pick and choose. There are plenty of things in the bible that you probably don't practice. What makes gay marriage such a big issue that people with be fueled to crusade against it for generations to come?
I just don't get it.
So 2 gay people get married, they get government benefits, and shit, that's about it. They just go on living, and so will you. No alien space ships crashing into earth, nuclear explosions, and no vampires hiding in your basements. Simply, some people get married, just like other people get married, and those people go on living.
I just can't grasp why that's so hard to understand?
