Hey guys, I have been covering a lot of rap events lately and Have now been hired to make a rap music video. The guy that I am doing it for is a pretty big Chicago rapper and has had some experience making videos before so I am a little nervous on working with him. here is his last music video he did:
I have never shot a music video before so I dont really know what to do haha but I have a decent idea of what I need to do. My plan is to scope out a couple spots to shoot the video at and then on production day go to the spots with some sort of PA system and play the song a couple times at each spot while constantly recording from a couple different angles at each spot. Then add the "story" part of it later on.
I am making this thread to just sort of see if any of you guys have experience doing anything like this and if you have any tips for me to help things move smoothly.
I am less worried about the physical shooting part then the communication process and directing. I have shot a lot of different stuff but have never really had to direct people (besides interviews) and am kind of nervous about that aspect of things.
