Well i just got my new thalls that im stoked to be riding next season. im planning this summer to build a summer setup, but my question is, does it ruin your skis by any means(bases or anything). If so, should i just buy a pair of used skis as trash skis?
I wouldnt. The turf itself isnt bad but it's likely your gonna fall off the rail or whatever. Skis just somehow figure out how to get beat up on summer set ups.
Yeah I wouldn't ride new skis on a summer set up. They will probably get base burn from the turf and the edges will get thrashed by the rail and the shit you are landing on. Definitely get some beaters for jt
I just use a pair of directional skis I have, filed down the edges to basically nothing and use them exclusively on the summer setup, the wax will wear away extremely quickly so either maintain them well/get base burn.
turf wont do anything to your skis (no more damaging than snow) but your rails, falling, and random things that will damage you skis. I would use your old skis
