You guys ever think about it?

It scares me when I really get thinking about it. Like all we do is live our whole lives for it to be taken away like that. Super easy. It can happen any time, by anything. Everything you've done, worked for, people you've met, just gone.
Another thing, to you religious people, what if theres nothing after? I've thought about it before. It just ends. Nothing. Like what happens? Do you think for a bit after? Just stop? What happens to you? Think of all the people before us, they're just gone.
I think it scares me because I dont know. Like what if it goes cold, empty and grey and then fades out.

I just wanted to see your guys' thoughts. Sorry for the rant, just mostly thinking out loud.

Yeah, I feel like no matter how you die it's gonna be devastating for others.

And skiing would be pretty sick. Depending on how though, it could suck. Maybe, I feel like dying doesn't hurt.
I didn't feel anything when I hit the trees. I was completely fine. It was when I came to that sucked. Severe headache and pain all over.

The 'white' sense that you felt when you become the only thing in the whole universe makes sense to me because you are the universe and we all are. I have felt this sense that we are all a part of the same consciousness (on a very macroscopic scale) that we are all one in the same...but my thoughts are that you just were not out (dead) for long enough for your consciousness to fully ascend correctly. Possibly you weren't suposed to die as well so your experiences just gave you a glimpse of the afterlife for a reason that only you may discover. But if I were like you with questions, I would go listen to mother ayahuasca....(dimeythltryptamine).

Sucks to say but Cancer and Alzhiemers seem to be the organic way for people to die. It just happens, It is life. Something has to kill us, it is nature.

Fuck, this is the only thing besides the universe that scares the shit out of me. Know that you will cease to exist, you can't rationalize that being alive, there always has to be something else, and trying to think there won't makes me want to live forever.

I also think about reincarnation. I'd like to believe it's true but that is probably as likely as heaven and god. But if it was real imagine this, when you get reincarnated you have no previous notion of who you were so in reality it is just like dying because you can't remember you past life so its as if you never existed.

And dying is exactly like birth, you were nothing, you became something, and you will be nothing again. But when you were nothing you didn't now you were nothing until you became something. And even when you did, you didn't have conscious thought, let alone memories for a while. Think about how far back you can remember. Its like that. You weren't scared though, because you were nothing, though the thought of being nothing AGAIN is scary. FUCKING FUCK MY MIND IS FUCKED.

Zen, buddhism, and taoism all have really scary but also beautiful views on life and death.
I love Alan Watts though, he's one of the few people that can explain aspects of zen in a way that is even remotely understandable.

Yes, buddhism is quite interesting. I especially like the teachings of Buddha regarding the philosophy that reality is devoid of sensory mediation and conception, or empty, and therefore language itself is inadequate without direct experience. It also explains a purpose to life, as well as injustice and inequality around the world, and it provides a practice or way of life that leads to happiness. In addition, Buddhism has answers to many problems in materialistic societies.

i think death is cool because it is the one thing that we never truley can know about. We can discover space and the bottom of the ocean. Death and the beggining are the two things that we will never know about. Personally when it is my time, if i happen to be very old and i know i cant give back any more, I will be kind of excited to die because i know that i will have lived a great life and would be really excited to see what was next.

I, as well, am scared of eternal emptiness. But i've also compared our lives/death to other things
I compared one of us dying, to stepping on an ant, whether if it was by accident or on purpose, their life and entity is just gone. They're squashed on the ground. Nothing else. Idk, just makes you think about how quick your entire work of art that is your life can end.

Also, for the past year i've just been looking a life from a new perspective. I don't want to be older and think "i should've done this" but rather do it. So that i can actually mean something in life and help people, that's why i help others, give them advice, and such.

Me and my friends biked to some park 25 minutes away to explore the park and do some hill biking (lol, mountain biking? New jersey? Funny.) and as we were eating our food we brought at some table, some guy came up to our table and told us something along the lines of "i saw you guys biking here and i really love what you're doing by not just sitting at home or making bad decisions like others"
That honestly just made me happy, that myself, and my friends, do stuff beyond differently than others that we see. We have the most fun possible and just live a "say fuck it and huck it" lifestyle. Well, i do at least.

Yeah I'm really trying to get into that mind state. I love doing things and you only get one life to live, so don't waste it. My problem is getting out of my comfort zone. I've tried, and sometimes it feels weird, but you can't regret it.

I'm surprised the fate argument hasn't come up. The fact that we either make conscious decisions, or we were always going to make that decision. People can argue, well what if I just cut my leg off spontaneously, but what if you were supposed to cut your leg off. Can be a mindfuck in it's self right up there with death.

For me, getting out of the comfort zone is constantly one of the hardest things to do. Like if I'm learning to do something new or trying to do something harder, it's always hard, but hey, on the bright side More Sketch = Higher Rate of Return. As far as I think at least.

Well, I have this theory that basically the fundamental reason for humor is sort of human need to deal with the fact that the world is irrational and dangerous and random and that it ends in death. And like penguins don't know that, which is why so few penguins get into the humor field. I'm not saying they're not funny, but, you know, just being professional. But animals in general just don't seem to figure that out. But humans figured, oh my gosh, the world - I mean, even though I live a wonderful, good life, I could be killed at any minute or horrible things could happen. And even if everything goes great, I'm going to die, probably without any teeth. So there are two basic ways that we deal with that. One is religion - OK, it's not really going to end, it's going to go on and on. And the other is to find humor in it, to laugh at it. I really think that most jokes in the end, when we laugh, we are releasing a tension that we feel about something that's a little scarier and incongruous and insane about our lives around us. So that's my humor theory.
