Find some cheap pipe gloves. A lot of people just use their normal mittens or whatever, but I fucking hate sweaty hands. Pipe gloves give you some protection without the insulation. You could also use welders gloves, bike gloves or any number of other light gloves with some stiffness in them to protect your hand.
