Crash Pads?

How many of you guys use them, and do the work? I just started getting into park this season and it seemed that the majority of the times when I fell it was right on my hip, and by the end of the season my hip was bruises as hell. Is it worth it to invest in one of these?

I used them this year and they worked pretty well. I was going pretty hard so it is still possible to bruise yourself if you keep falling on the same spot. But for $75 or whatever it is they offer decent enough protection.

Worth it completely, especially if you don't have much body fat. I'm really skinny and have no padding on my hips, and I used to get huge black bruises on my hips just from the smallest impacts. I bought some crash pads last season and they have worked wonders since. 95% of my crashes involved hurting my upper leg area, and since getting the pads I've been able to go man-mode on features, and take pretty significant impacts to my legs no problem.

I have the actual branded "crash pads 2500" ones. Cost me $65 I think.. Maybe my best purchase. Saved my ass/hips so many times and makes for easy chilling on my ass waiting for my one plank wanker friends.

Does anyone wear anything for shoulder protection? I landed on my left shoulder twice really hard this year under rotating flips and that shit fucking hurts.

Sweet thread, I was going to get some this year but wasn't sure, but I'll definitely get some for next season now after reading.
Landing on my hip made me take a handful of days off which is not fun, I thought i was being a pussy by thinking about pads but fuck it skiing with pads is funner than no skiing at all.

I could understand using them in the summer for park because of the concrete, or because you are getting up there in age and take some pretty nasty falls, but other than that I don't really see a need for them.

I don't use them and get bruises but they just motivate me that much more to not fall the next time I try something.

I use a back protector. It's the salomon one and I hardly even notice it. It does wonders for me. When I fall on my back it takes a LOT of the impact, and it also helps out my mental game. Knowing I'm wearing it makes me try harder things. I land on my hips a ton and got some pretty nasty bruises. But I don't really want hip/butt pads.

This too. Their Vpd stuff is awesome. I have their shirt knee pads too. Should of mentioned my other protection measures with my last post.

I wear a Head spine protector and can't ride without it. Feels weird...(same with my lid)

Think I'd draw the line at upper body protection. They few i tried on seem a little bit restrictive..

I'm really considering getting a crash pad thing like shorts. Although they kinda look like football gurdles. I don't go really hard but whenever I do crash I always hit my butt/thigh and I'm a Heavyer guy so there's a lot of impact in that region. And I think in effect, it will make me more confident when trying new tricks

Thanks guys, I'm definitely getting some next year.. I'm pretty skinny, haven't gone skiing in a month and the bruises from this season still haven't gome away so it seems like it's worth it, especially from the confidence aspect

Yeah I love mine, definitely worth the purchase. Also make uncomfortable lifts so much nicer and take the impact on the one's that really hit you fast!

Being 30, I don't bounce back up as fast as I used to 10 years ago. I have a the demon protective top. Its super comfy and I dont even notice I am wearing it. Its skin tight like a compression shirt, has rib protector, spine, shoulder and elbow protectors. It fits perfectly under my jacket, no one knows I wear it. It saved me more then once. I

These are the ones I have. They work really well but the pads up top on the front were really annoying when I sat down so I took them off by removing the thread that attaches them. Now they're perfect

This happened to me so much in my first two years of park. As you progress though your balance gets better on rails and you fall more on your ribs because of more spinning. Rib pads are the way to go

thats what i did when i was learning, definitly saved my hips a ton.
i use them for skating too cuz concrete hurts more than snow.

I bought a full set of Demon armor pads this year as I am getting older, and dont heal as well as I use to. I am also just learning. I think if you are just getting into park, its extra important to have that padding.
