Not sure if this is the right place, but I figured I might be more likely to find someone who could help me.
Recently, my mac book pro has sometimes been acting a little strange or sluggish, though I have usually attributed this to the shitty wifi on campus (it is a 15" quad core i7 with 16gb of ram, so it can handle a bit). This morning, I noticed it was dead, so I plugged it in and when I checked on it about 15 or 20 minutes later, I tried to turn it on (still plugged in). It made the sound, but the screen was black (on though). After many tries, I gave up and went to class. Was supposed to hand in a sample of a draft for a final paper, but my teacher was cool about it, emailed me the local apple store address and phone number. After class, I open it up and notice that it has started itself in safe mode. it is pretty glitchy, like shit flashing on the screen, the speakers don't work, but I make sure to back up my paper and photos to my external and then restart it (this worked for some people when I researched it). When I turn it back on, it is still super slow, like delayed typing and 10 minutes to even try to do a google search (though loading the page was fast, not an internet issue for once). Sound is back on, graphics are much worse. I heard it could be the graphics card, and I would like to know if this has happened to anyone, and what I should do to fix it. I am going to try to find the apple store tomorrow, but I think it may just be a reseller. Also, if anyone has an iPhone (so I can do iMessage), pm me your number if you want to see a sample. Snapchat may also work if it is acting up again later. It got really bad while I was typing this, and then for some reason it just stopped, but only over the text box, everything else still is like flashing, right now it almost looks like the matrix because there are all these green dots flashing and running down the side.
I have 3 final papers to write, so if anyone could help me and get me any closer to having a functioning laptop, I would really appreciate it. I am completely lost at this point, in a foreign country, and I almost no free time because it is the end of the semester, so any insight would really help. Thanks
