Escaping police chase

ive been getting tickets a lot lately and im wondering if next time i could just try to outrun them instead of pull over? what would i need to do to my car to get it to work like that.

If you're on a motorcyle over 500cc yes,  they see the liability too much and its illegal for them to chase you in the rain or if youre going over 120 on a bike.

The following applies to highway--

Cars you dont have the same luck, even if you pass the cop already at 5th gear redline

been in an  evo bmw  and a cobra for pursuits---- they are gonna radio ahead and prevent you from exiting the thruway or you are going to run into traffic and have to be going less than 80  

plus traffic cameras and technologies like plate scanners make anything too hard to get awa

plus some of these cops live for this shit. their cars are geared to be going 140 and quite often the case supercharged

actually very helpful, ive always wondered what the cops have in their engines, most of them seem to be chevy malibus and crown vics like i know theyre modified some but how much can you mess with those cars?

If you're thinking of modding your car to go faster specifically to outrun the cops, its pointless. Firstly, being able to go faster than them means nothing if they can get your plate.

Secondly, having a faster car means you'll be speeding more because you're a dumbass, and speeding more= more cops after you

I sort of outran a cop in my neighborhood. I basically passed him doing 20 over, kept driving without slowing as he pulled out to follow me, and pulled into my garage and closed the door as he pulled onto my road. Call me a badass I guess #yoloswag420blazeit

I have a friend with a Camaro and he tried to outrun the police. A helicopter was eventually sent out And she was arrested and he's facing about 9 different driving charges.

 One of our laborers was high on cocaine without a license and got in a pursuit with his DODGE NEON

this guy was way out in the country and still couldnt shake the cop for anything

so he took it to a field and bailed.

Not really I know they do take kind of like a stunt driving course with the Crown Vic to learn how to handle them at High speed. But the reason why you can't out run police is because they keep bringing in fresh people you're outnumbered And after about five minutes of still being in the Chase they send a helicopter. If you do actually have to outrun the police your best bet is to immediately driving to a parking garage and bail out of your car. The longer you're in a police chase the less of a chance you have getting away.

a couple of my boys were out on the highway fuckin around on their sport bikes, riding wheelies, filming, etc. cop sees them....comes up on them to pull them over...dude turns around, flips the cop off, and takes off. he managed to out run the cops, but the dumb asses went back to the house where one of the bikes was registered. cops show up a little while later and question them....they tried to deny it, but they scoped the bikes in the garage and they were obviously still hot as fuck from the run....busted. no licenses for quite some time, fines, etc.

don't do it.

This post is so wrong on so many levels.

1. Pursuit laws for motorcycles vary from state to state and their is no law that says they can't chase you in the rain or over 120 mph.

2. The crown vic has a top speed of roughly 120-128 mph. That is the most popular police vehicle. The popular dodge charger pursuit (most state police) 3.5l v6 has a top spped of 135 mph. There are only a handful of cop cars capable of going over that.

3. Yes you will have better luck outrunning a cop on a bike but there are so many cars that can outrun cops its ridiculous.

If you know the roads you are driving on, know the town, and know roughly how many cops are in said town and surrounding towns it is pretty easy to make an escape (absolutely not saying you should).

Heres what you need to do.. If u know ur gona get in a police chase ( say your gona rob a bank) get your car that is fast but you dont need anything too much... before the chase buy some scuba gear and place it at the bottom of a pier.... (u need to be near a large water source ).. also get those underwater mini submarine things that will make u go fast underwater... after you rob the bank or do what ever you need to do ..drive to the pier... make sure you have your mask already on and and put money or anything stolen in waterproof bag or something... drive the car off the pier and into the water... go down to the bottom put on the scuba gear and get away....as long as they dont get DNA from the crime scene or car and u didnt get any video taken off you... u should be clean..... thats the only way i can think of to get away from a bank robber **** always wear your seatbelt too.. need to be safe

Running from the cops is dumb if your in a car. You're putting innocent lives in danger and personally I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I caused an accident where I killed someone else for my own stupidity. Also, after they catch you, and they will, you'll be railed so hard for reckless endangerment fines the judge will bend you over and shove his mallet in your ass. I know this is a troll but my statement still stands

Incorrect I own an Dodge charger police, car it has a V-8 5.8 L Hemi engine its an RT. the fastest I ever got it was about 135-140 At three in the morning down the highway in vt.

As for my story, I do not recommend that anyone attempt this, but I'm very thankful that by sheer luck we somehow pulled it off. TBH I'm kind of ashamed I was stupid enough to actually do it. Regardless though it is a cool story, so yo Hansel, check it:

My younger, dumber self and a friend were in the high desert on the back-way home from Big Bear (Old Woman Springs road, a 2lane hwy near Yucca/J-tree for those who are familiar), going 100+ after passing a couple cars and a small RV, freshly baked with paraphernalia in the open all over the place... Of course 5-0 comes around the bend going the other direction, flips his lights, and slows to make the U-turn to stop us. We had just finished a long roadtrip from Oregon where I managed to lose my wallet, had no license or identification of any sort, so we're basically gonna go to jail if this dude catches us, and I'm way too fuckin pretty to go to jail, man. My friend turns to me with saucer-eyes and without either of us saying a word, I gun it around the bend, praying to God my '01 A4 2.8 turbo is really as fast as I thought it was. We went 100-120 the few miles we had left to Yucca, got AIRBORNE from a compression dip on the way, pulled into the first gas station and into the muthafuckin CARWASH, where I had my homie hop in the drivers side to wash my car while I bought a Gatorade and looked out. Not even 3min behind us the cop comes flying thru the intersection, and turns the wrong way towards J-tree instead of where we were going towards Yucca and DHS. We took back roads the rest of the way home and stayed off the highway, and somehow made it back without seeing another officer. The only reason I think we got away was because of our lucky location where we saw the cop: he didn't have enough time or the right angle to catch our plates as we went around the bend, had to wait for the 3 vehicles behind us to pass before he could complete his U-turn, and then pass them again one by one trying to catch our asses.

We did the holy-shit-our-lives-were-almost-over nervous laugh the whole way home, and to this day it's both the dumbest and most awesome thing I've ever done.
