Summer Drop-In Material

The most vital part of a summer setup is the drop in, with out speed, there's no jibbin to be had. In many videos, the main material I see being used to cover the drop in and get good speed is astro-turf, artificial grass, but I have seen some good alternatives, such as snow fence and wooden lattice fence. Astro turf looks a bit too expensive for me, so I wanted to know what materials you guys used for your drop ins and how well they worked.

Msnow is the best, and if turf is to expensive for you, you shouldn't be making a drop in. You should be saving up for food man.

I went to home depot and got a roll of turf. It is a small roll, and it is not the astro turf you're thinking of. It doesn't have the rubber in it, it is more just fake grass. Take that and put it over some ply wood then throw that orange fencing over it, plenty of speed.

That covered in orange fencing, watered down works really well.

On the down ramp I put PVC pipes horizontally, then have it transfer to fake grass for a bit of grip

My summer setup is a lattice drop in, then turf tranny/takeoff. It works well, it also depends how steep and tall your drop in is though. Join the build a jib cult

If you can't afford turf I'm not sure if I can help you, other than browsing CL for free carpet.

Really, my turf was like $0.42 sq ft at Lowe's (like home depot), so about $25 total. it covered the entire drop in and some of the landing.

60 grit sandpaper and gravel. Make sure it's the irregular kind of gravel, not the rounded kind.

Sweet, that sounds decent. I might try to see where I can grab some turf for free, maybe the local dump. Thanks for the advice.

I used lattice fence for the first half which i got for free then astroturph when it curves for the lip so u have some grip. Ill post a pick when im not on mobile. It works pretty good though and it wasnt to expensive.

I did like the same thing lattace works great if u wet it a bit itll acually get u goin a decent speed
