Noticed that pros' FRs have different bases than my FR. Is this a pro version thing or did the base graphic change slightly during the season? I have an old one I think, with the serial number saying it's like #73
Its not actually a different base but a different base graphic, there is no difference between your base and the bases the pros use. ON3P let their pro's choose what graphics they want hence some ski with the new FR graphic on the Presters.
Different graphic probably. There are always rumors about pros having a different version of a ski like Andy Mayre has stiffer hellbent and Max hill has softer abangs but all these rumors are false. 99 percent of the time pros ski the skis off the shelf
I know on3p, because they are hand made individually, lets their pros change them slightly. For example, rory McCabe (not on the pro team but gets hooked up I think) has ft's with slightly more camber than the normal ones
The team skis on next years skis, and usually each ski is made a little bit differently, slightly different dimensions or constructions for them to test out before the model is finalized. Different graphics help the factory crew distinguish different pairs, and also serves as some measure of theft prevention for the team - should one of their pairs get jacked, its much harder for the thief to move a unique ski without notice.
