Shutter count on mac? eos and rebel

hey guys

i am looking to buy one of 2 cameras and they are my friends

used 7d or used t3i

all i want to know is how i can check the shutter counts on a mac? i've been told they have to be sent in but i feel like thats wrong

they aren't mine and i don't think either of them know what that is...

if i can get them to install it, does it work on both cameras?

Any EXIF reader can do it. On a Nikon it's at Schema/ImageNumber but I guess Canon might be different.
