I predict we start seeing these for softshells and riding hoodies soon.

Ever since I had seen the video of the chocolate sauce beading off the shoe because it was coated with a super hydrophobic spray, I've wanted it for outerwear. Especially my jacket. Not because I want to stay dry, but because I'm such a sloppy eater... But seriously, it would be the awesome to have this with outerwear to stay dry out there. Hopefully!

That stuff doesn't breathe at all.. so it would be like wearing a garbage bag skiing.. you'd get all sweaty and feel wet anyway.

I figured breath ability and durability of the coating would be an issue. Still, as a PNW skier, I want this stuff on my jacket shoulders and pants thighs and ass for the wet resort days.

Oh dang, didn't know it affected breathability.
But having it in strategic locations on outerwear would still be awesome for sure. The butt, inner thighs, pant cuffs, knees, shoulders, elbows. You would still have a breathable garment, and one that is functionally much better because your not getting wet in those spots.
And what about use on other skiing goods? If it didn't hurt goggle lenses, then that would be an awesome use for this stuff. Maybe in and around bindings and so forth to keep water and ice out of them. And ski topsheets would be pretty nice if this stuff would help shed snow. I would also layer the living shit out of my backpack with this stuff. It's not like there is anything sweating inside of there, so why not?

This shit has been out for years. Buy it at hunting stores.
