I really don't see how anyone can argue that it's NOT taking away freedom from our people. If you're against that then I'm against you, ya fuckin' commie.

Abortions aren't designed for anything beside killing people. That's my new gun argument. If you're pro abortions (choice) then you're a hypocrite if you're anti gun.

Let's also force people to wear helmets, let's also make illegal to drink large sodas, lets allow the government to listen to our phone calls, lets allow them to tell us what we can and can't do to our bodies.

Point is it's not YOUR job to look out for anyone but yourself.

Gun laws to prevent violence work about as well as drug laws.

Prohibition =/= unsuccessful

My question is do you think the democrats arguing here for stricter gun control realize they're shooting themselves in the foot? I mean I've already stated it's taking the rights away from citizens and yet they keep on keeping on. As someone stated earlier the reps in Colorado who are voting for stricter gun control are going to have a tough time getting re-elected because of their blatant repression of freedom.

just keep on walking if someone is raped in a dark corner next to you. dont even bother donating money for desaster/hunger... relief. empathy is not a sickness. humans are primates (maybe youre not so sure about that) and therefore social animals that need a group (10-100 individuals) to survive.

this attitude is the underlying problem of it all. its your fucking job to ensure that you dont hurt/fail to help other people if you can you egoist.

I never said don't help out. How is helping someone NOT get raped taking away from peoples rights?

The better question is where did you come from me saying don't take away my freedoms to let people get raped?

I hate the westburro baptist church but I would NEVER infringe on their right to public speech. You on the other hand would rather take away someones speaking rights in order please your agenda.

I think we've got more than enough laws in place to ensure people don't hurt other people. Hell, the vast majority of them we've got implemented aren't even followed, let alone the ones that deal with guns. But alas, that's a stupid argument because emotionally YOU feel YOU need to do something. Crazy people are gonna do crazy things, we can only mitigate it so much before we start creating a dictatorship with our freedoms.

If you want to keep everyone safe from guns then impalement curfews, have guards at every corner, have the government more involved (than they already are) in our lives, have more locks on your door, outlaw all guns, put more people in prison. Where the hell does it stop?

Soon it will be illegal to walk down the street by yourself, and then it will be illegal to leave your house at all. Is that really what you want, ya fuckin' commie? For people to be trapped in their houses their whole lives? Because that's what will happen if you stop someone from raping someone else. Go back to eastern Europe, jackass. If you don't like America and freedom, you can leave, no one is forcing you to live here. People like you make me fucking sick, the founding fathers fought for America so we could have FREEDOM, not a government that exercises so much control over it's citizens' lives that it stops men from raping women whenever they feel like it.

Just look at history, the Europeans had guns, and the Africans didn't, the Africans became slaves while the Europeans remained free. The colonists had guns, the Native Americans didn't, the colonists prospered, while the Native Americans all died out. The Nazi's had guns, the Jews didn't, 6 million Jews died, and the Nazi's almost took over the world until AMERICA came with bigger GUNS. The list goes on. Nothing symbolizes FREEDOM better than GUNS, and nothing is more AMERICAN than FREEDOM

When you capitalize an entire word, it makes your argument sound like it's coming out of the mouth of a 6 year old.

If you want true freedom, leave the United States. True freedom is living somewhere where there is no government. Go move to an uninhabited island somewhere.

I have to capitalize, all liberals are imbeciles and if I do not capitalize they will become confused and misunderstand. They are like 6 year olds, those liberals.

And, yes, no government at all would provide one with the most possible freedom, but I hope we can both agree that it is not an entirely practical thing to do. Besides, I like people, as long as they are not different from me.

The press ceased to be free a long time ago. It is extremely rare that the media is ever critical of the democrats. Let's assume for a moment that progressives are right and everything they are doing or trying to do is good. Don't you realize how dangerous it is to only get one side of the story? When that happens, it is no longer news; it is propaganda.

The day you agree with most of what the media tells you, is the day that you should start worrying. The press is supposed to report the news, not further any party's political agenda.

Wtf do taxes have to do with you wanting to take away my right to own a gun?  I never stated I was against basic infrastructure taxes (aka paying to register my car to pay for roads, although I doubt any of it actually goes there).  Let's save the tax argument for another day and try and stay on topic.  I apologize for starting that

Where do I stand with regards to neo-nazi prop spewing hatred against jews?  I stand where I've always stood; Personally I think they're FUCKS and should rot in hell.  Politically I think they should have every right to organize a protest.

It took me a while to really distance myself from my PERSONAL views and what should be a right for someone.  Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it should be illegal.

I don't particularly like guns but in certain situations they have their place. I was raised in a very anti-gun household and that's what I'm used to. I quoted myself so my post would get more attention as it was hidden at the bottom of the last page. God damn right I'm an American, but your off in your assumption that I am a Republican. I don't believe in Republicans or Democrats, nor do I support a two party system. I adhere to the philosophies of classic liberalism, volunterism, laissze-faire capitalism, etc. If you must label my political views, Libertarian would be more accurate. The problem with your statement is that you act out of fear in response to panic. Often these actions have obvious goals and "benefits", but after we act we can see the secondary effects and cost sides to your actions. Often when it is the government engaging in these actions, the secondary effects and cost sides are immensely damaning, but are sadly ignored as people continue to panic and act out of fear.

I think a more appropriate thing to say is: Fools do something before considering the consequences, while smart and efficient people act in order to avoid those consequences.

Did you know that before the most recent communist counties came into power they took away the citizens weapons? Then the govn. Would use weapons to keep order and instill fear in the population to keep from an uprising? The govn. Taking our weapons away makes us have to rely on them more and more. I would rather not rely on our government. I mean look what's already happening within our government? You can't tell me that our government is all fine and dandy.

Exactly! Like I said earlier, guns are the symbol of freedom! Without guns there can be no freedom! Not only do guns help preserve freedom, but they help put the lowly, undeserving individuals back in their place! History has shown that guns propel the white man to his proper place: on top of the throne and the head of the food chain, and the inferior people such as non-whites, homosexuals, non-christians, women, and poor people under the power of the white man, where they belong! It is a true travesty that the cowards in America have rescinded the brilliance of our heroes and role models the Founding Fathers and granted rights to those who clearly do not deserve them (women, blacks, etc) as our Constitution clearly stated before it was defiled and perverted by the imbeciles who now permeate this country and are doing their utmost to bring what was once the most glorious nation ever known to man to its knees!

And that wasn't what I meant. The dumbass quote that other dumbass quoted conveniently ignores the fact that being pro gun control does not automatically mean you want to take away all the guns, and that, if you do want to take away all the guns, it mean you want to take away all the guns from everyone but the government. Well, look at that, thoroughly mangled that piece-of-shit argument in just one sentence. It was easier than I thought.

Only taking away rights from those who never deserved them in the first place. Read the original draft of The Constitution. It clearly says black people can, and should, be enslaved and that women have no right to vote. Gay marriage was illegal everywhere and there were essentially no programs that helped the poor. Unfortunately people have forgotten about The Constitution over the years and decided they knew more than the founding fathers about the best way to run a country. It is disgusting how badly defiled The Constitution has become, the Democrats have, time and time again, dropped their pants and taken a massive shit on The Constitution. It is time we cleanse this country of the filth and reclaim it for those it truly belongs to: the white man.

Ok your right about most anti gun control people thinking that pro gun control people want to take all there guns. But you could go the other way and say that most pro gun control people think that anti gun control people want any gun they want and they want the gun to kill something. But we can talk stereotypes all day, which doesn't get anything done; just a pointless argument. But what are you trying to say at the end there? The government would enforce gun laws on itself to be "fair" to the people or something! The guns would stay the same in the government whether the citizens had guns or not.

No, I'm saying that, if I DID want to take away all the guns, I would want the ones the government has gone, too, not just the citizens. I wouldn't say "lets take all the citizen guns so only the government has them," I would say "lets take all the guns from everybody so no one has them"
