Yeah loons been killing it. I always wanted to see somebody put a capped rail in a contest. Wasn't sure how it'd work but I like the pictures/videos from that contest.

Also the staircase is still one of the gnarliest even though they've had it for like 7 years.

I know a lot of skiers hate wood but I love wood features and this was one of the more unique features in prospector at mount snow.

Also the soccer goal rail at Mount St Louis just for being gnarly if nothing else.

Yeah I liked some of the stuff they've done. They were another one I was thinking of that's done the plywood banks.

^This one was another setup they had that looked fun. A few years ago crotched had an up dragon box to barrel that was fun to get buttery on.

haha seriously, people say trying to learn to park ski in the east is bad... its nearly impossible in the midwest.

All the kickers are so fuckin sketchy since they dont match the landings. I remember last season if you went off the right of one of the jumps you would land flat cause you wouldnt make it to the lip of the landing, if you went off the left side you would be kicked up extra high and land nearly at the bottom

Ya it is three different tubes put together but there are gaps between all of the (Down flat to down flat down to flat down tubes). It is super gnarly! Really tough to finish. Only saw a few people complete it and a few people get completely wrecked on it because of the speed you pick up hitting it. It is somewhere between 80-100', I am not sure of the length of all the individual tubes

Yeah I saw the rails set up for the pbrj and maybe something else. Crazy long. I feel like I would try until I got broke and then never go near it again.

*I meant to say landings aren't matched to the lips, but you got what I was saying.

I told myself I'd never go back to Wilmont, but I went this past winter.

It's such a tough choice, though. Yeah, it sucks, but it's only an hour and a half drive. Much more manageable of a drive for me than Tyrol, which is 3+ hours.

The plywood banks were fun it was a bombdrop on the end. The pic ZT posted as well as the rail to bonk were from the massacre set up. It was pretty i sane to watch and compete in. But that bonk rail kinda sucked and wasnt that fun to be honest

I feel like the amount of fun the average person would have on that depends on if they're skiing or boarding.

The one at crotched as well. You hit the dragon going up, stalled the barrel then rode the dragon back down. Fun to get buttery but skiers might not have dug it.

I only went once, I think it was 09? Went for the video park. They had a nice big booter, with a giant barrel bonk option, a flat box up on a euro table, and a whole crazy bowl of jibs at the bottom. We went and road the main parks the next day and it seemed like a lot of the stuff hadn't been fixed in a while.

They did have a 50' battleship tree in the woods that was sick though. But I hate when things aren't maintained especially when it's cold and there aren't many people. When shit is melting out and it's pay your age day at mount snow I don't expect the main parks to hold up for too long.

I go a few times every year. They ripped out most of the wood rails I think. There seems to be no real rark crew there. Nothing gets raked and the jumps never get repushed. Once the set up is in its almost constant for the year. It's a shame as it has a lot of potential to be good.

Nashoba sets the bar park wise. They coordinate events with shops and usasa and build and constantly chamge the set up. Every year a few new features also get created which is nice whether they be new down rails or kinked rails.
They also rake a few times a day...etc

I always dug the use of an old tucker in a setup. They had a bunch of nice planet snow tools boxes/rails.

I'd love to do something cool with the one at our mountain.

I know what you're talking about. It just seems like such a gimmick. Def unique but I would cry if a small mountain ever wasted their budget on one.

I'd be more interested in seeing how well northern rails new modular features work.

There's a street version of this down up rail you speak of in old truckee. Its pretty sketchy, not that big but it closes out. I would find a clip but it could take months as I think only 2 people I know of have hit it.

I can't find one. I believe there's one in the planet snow tools catalog I have upstairs from a couple years ago. I think there website used to have it on there but they changed everything around, and don't seem to show much.

I'll see what I can dig up and post if I find it.

I used to be on park crew at that place. Devil's Head in Wisconsin. That is straight up the sketchiest box ever because the box top is lower than the sides and it's always sticky. The only people I ever saw hit it got completely wrecked.
